Hey lads,

Just wanted to ask if anyone knows if a set of '97 Magna Sports 16" rims will bolt on to a '92 TR Magna wagon SE?
We tried a set of 200sx S14 rims, but the centre bore size of the rim appeared to not fit the Magna, so unsure if '97 Magna sports rims will fit correctly?

Thanks,
Dino.

As far as i know anything that fits a third gen magna fits a second gen magna (except for maybe rims of an awd?)

ALL 91+ magnas have the EXACT same bolt pattern and will fit, the ONLY thing you have to worry about is the tyres. Being a 92 TR i'm assuming you have the 4 cylinder engine, which has 14 inch tyres stock, and i'm pretty sure the overall diameter of the 3rd gens is bigger than the 2nd gens, so you'd have to get lower profile tyres. But other than buying new tyres the wheels will bolt on.

Thanks guys, thats exactly what I needed to know!

Anyone know what sort of cheap rubber you can get in that rating? what am I looking at roughly for per tyre?

rubbers gonna cost you anywhere between 200-250 each for 16" AT LEAST

all depends if u want performance or just regular tyres... have a look around

im in the process of looking for new good handling 15" tyres and its gonna cost me 150+ each

i have the same as samurai with the TJ sports 16" rims but unfortunately my tyres are 215/60 bridgestone turanza's which are too large overall so when i turn corners a little to sharply there is some scrapping. Besides that they are fairly good tyres and got them for only $150 each. Even tho i think next time i will be looking for some lower profile rubber.

I use Dunlop SP Sport 3000As. OE for XR Falcons and fast Commodores.

Costs me $185 a corner. It's not cheap, but they work better than Yokohama A539s and I always place function before form :)

Samurai is right: I'd also say the cheapest new 225/50 16s would start from the $130 mark.

I got my Toyo Transes Trio (or whatever they are called) 215/60 16's for $140 each. Nothing too special, was in a hurry to get new rubber because rego was due and needed a RWC.

They seem to be better then my RE92's on my 3rd gen, I'm going to swap them.

The rims fit!!! all 91+ mangas have the same stud pattern. Also they fit au+ falcons. 5/114.3.

The Toyos transas teo's are excelent tyres, good quite and good in wet, good mileage. But if u want performance get some Toyo TPG's these tyres stick. I work at a high performance car shop and every 400+ hp car has put them on and not moved!!! serious. I have them on my magna. 235/45x17. They stick and i have got about 60,000km out of them which is great for a performance tyre. The dunlops, goodyears and that are **** house for grip compared and you get ono mileage.. They are original equip for BA,s and stuff but only by contract not performance. the TPG's are around 150 for 225/60x15. 190 for 225/50x16 and 240 for 235/45x17. The Kumho 712's also may be a cheaper alterative. I would also recommend yoko's for quite and stuff like that. Just get a japanese tyre as they have the best technology than us and other countries. Except europe and the overpriced tyres like michy and pierilli.
