has anyone done this on a 1st gen or to any other car? i mean its not hard, but for you that dont know it involves removing and the hoses going to and from the intake manifold and carb/throttle body and plugging them, and the hoses left over being looped back into the cooling system. i havent heard anything bad about this and it has been shown on a dyno to gain some 2-3 HP due to cooler air pretty good for a basic mod.

the only downside is which i can see is in cooler mths (on a carby) the choke will take longer to open as the carby/intake manfold will take longer too warm up.

any one had a play with this concept?

put a webber on it :P

its not really going to help your cause, if you can imagine how fast even at idle the air goes thru the carbi, if the carbi is even red hot its not toing to heat up the air significantly enough to decrease performance.

I'll give this a try in the next few days and tell ya how it goes... i'm really interested to see if it makes a decent difference or not. Would this affect fuel economy on an efi engine, with the auto choke staying open too long?
