Hey all,
ok my TN exec sedan is having a few problems
1st generaly takes ages to start and floods easily like i could be there for like a minute with the starter motor goin before it starts if it will, can drain 2 or 3 battries before it finaly goes
with that problem i find that if i have 2 batteries in the car connected by good jump leads it starts first go in like a second
2nd today i was driving, noticed the taco died when i was driving, after i stoped the car, i went to turn it back on, get all the lights, and even then relay cutting out the radio and stuff like normal, yet nothing from the starter motor,
any ideas or suggestions
with the first one, maybe your battery is old n tired? or you dont have enough CCA (Cold Cranking Amps), if your car is EFI is needs a bigger battery than a carby, usually whack a battery from a 6 cyl on it.
when your driving is your voltmeter reading between 12 and 14?
Second, If its a recurring problem ive had it with my laser, only when hot. The starter could be dying. Ive heard that you tap it with a hammer it will go, if not the RACV guy said to have someone hold the key on start and tap the starter (that works for me)

sounds like an auto elecy job. your starter is draining too much power from the battery for there to be a solid spark to start the car im guessing. electrical problems are best left for the experts i reckon because it could take someone 10 hours to find what a lecky could in about 5 minutes with the right tools

The problem meph describes with the starter is a starter motor solenoid.
Easy fix... take out the starter, hoy it. Put in new starter. Or if you feel like ****ing around, source a new solenoid. Still though the starter will have to come out.

My TN won’t start if the there is not unuf charge in the battery Evan though it still wind’s over ok
It’s ECU its needs a certain amount of charge to work that’s if u have EFI
Your starter motor might be no good I had that problem not winding the motor over qwickunuf imitating a flat battery
Leave your battery disconnected over night and when u aren’t driving the car
U might have a short
Also your alternator might not be charging check connections including battery earths on the motor etc :)

TN Execs are EFi, so its probably an ignition problem.
Check all your plugs are clean & all plug leads are good.
Especially the 5th lead!! Coil can also go lazy with age.
There is a multi-plug for ignition signalling coming out
of the distributor... this can corrode if water gets in the boot.
Make sure that's clean & dry.

not all execs are efi (only the elantes and TN-TP elites can standard with efi, all the rest was an option) so chances are it could be carby and the problem could be carby related im not a guru on carbys but im sure one of the others might help
TP Executive was standard with EFI. I'm not sure of TN, though.
