Hey guys, i'm still sort of half dreaming at the moment, I've been short listed for a new job wich will give me a 13k car allowance.
I've been currently driving mums old VS commodore, and i HATE it! Dad has a 99 Ei wich drives very nice and it's a great car. Now, I was thinking of getting a KH Xi if i grab this job, mainly cause it's got all the luxuries and is simply a great car. But then, that would blow my whole car allowence and most of my savings (have 5k in the "car fund" atm).
So what would you guys suggest? Getting the higher end luxury and blow all the dosh, or be safe and grab a cheaper car for around 7k?
Also, how are they on fuel eco compared to cars in a similar class, i.e. falcons/commodores? Also reliability, now, dad's is sitting over 250 000 kms and still running fine, but is he lucky? or is this the case with all you 3rd gen owners?
This will be my first car owned, but i've had my licence for almost 12 months.

Go for it dude, Verada's Xi's are very nice cars.

If you are used to your fatehrs Ei you will love Xi ( i think only difference is Leather and Sunroof) but going something like $7k mark will only get you TE/TF Advance , which will have alot less features than Ei or Xi.

So its your choice looks , comfort, luxuries, leather, sunroof and heaps of extra's go the Xi,

Fuel consumption is okay like 11-13 for city driving , but then agian it really depends on your driving style too.
