It has probably come up before, but a search didn't turn up what I want to ask.
How do you get at the screws to replace the rear speakers on a TJ sedan? There is stuff all room for even the shortest screw driver, under the back window.
Second question: I have just bought some JBL P-92 6x9's and notice that the magnet is much bigger than stock. Will they get caught up on the boot torsion rods? and if so, does it cause a problem with either the boot or the speakers?
cheers

What about a phillips head insert bit (ones that goes in a drill) held with small shifter a right angle.

thats what i did :)
If u are really impatient or mentally impaired, u could take out the back seat cushion and parcel shelf :)

Good thinking. It was late and I was tired. I probably would have thought of that in a few days when I got sick of looking at the new speakers in the box :bowrofl:
by birdman, did you mean that yellow coloured dude thats solar powered, lives in a dome on a rock, and has a pet eagle?
his only friend is some old man with an eye patch, and talks to him via a comptuer screen. The same guy that shouts "BIIIIIRRRDD MANN!" when he flies out of his dome?
I hated bird man...i reckon space ghost was cooler.

Hey that's me :D
I found a cool solution to my problem. I was in supercheap today and got a 'flexible screwdriver'. It has a ratchet handle and 200mm flexible shaft that can attach various sized screwdriver heads. Great for getting at those hard-to-get-at round the corner type places. Great value at $8

Yeah i got one of them too... The only thing that'll come in useful is the little tips. I dont think the ratchet will reach in there.
You may have a different model though.
But it's seriously under a minute with the screwdriver tips and a shifter
Peace
Tim
I just used one of those phillips head screwdrivers that have this shape..

I used the philips angle screw driver like the one shown by Bain.
All i know is you need patience when doing this and need to be fully fresh ro might end up kill the new speakers :)

The flexy screwdriver did the trick. However the holes for the speakers weren't big enough, so I had to cut metal to make them big enough to fit my JBL 6x9's in. The magnet does rub against the boot torsion bar on the driver's side though. I guess the angle of the bars on the passenger side isn't as great. Anyway they are in, and sound cool. Now for the fronts ... :)

Yeah I got the same problem with my Pioneer 6x9's :P so your cutting away a bit of your parcel to get em to fit? chuck a post up with how it went.
