I like the look of the Clarion headunits. But are they good, are clarion speakers good aswell. any info most welcome

I have just put clarion splits in the front of my car, quite happy with the result.

Without propper tuning the tweeters can be a bit sharp, but when all tuned up it all sounds sweet, good luck!!

yes Clarion are one of the better headunits, if you like the look of them as well, then even better :) . and yes the clarion range of speakers are quite good. not top of the range, but up there with most of the alpine/pioneer range

Yeah, I always have liked clarion but none of my friends have them so i thought they coulda been crap. Oh by the way how many times did u have to sit for ur driving test. it took me three i only got it today. but least i got it now, but i was told if u go in a driving school car u have a better chance of passing. i went in my magna!

yeh they prefer a driving school car coz they have the brake, but i passed mine on the first time, lucky me, took me 3 months to find a manual TR magna.........and cheap enough in good condition for me to afford.......

how much u going to be spending on the clarion head unit?
if its near a $1000 dont bother.... go and buy a nakamichi head unit... it will piss on anything.... under the $2000 mark...
24bit processing with 5v preouts..... true sound qualiy head unit.... they dont look flash or even look nicce.... but its not about looks its how it performs.... plus lookig plain and simple is a sercurity feature in itself too

yeah ive always liked clarion h/u. they look good and are easy to use, good interfacing. im not sure what there new lines are like but i think ill definately be looking at them if i ever upgrade my system any more.

nakamichi hmmm i herd they were really ugly. but i am going for sound quality so if they are the best and i can afford it. I should get it then. But i always liked Clarion so how to they rate aganist nakamichi no competition i spose.[/quote]
