Not sure if this should be in audio section or here.
Basically my car alarm/immobiliser has a remote and every couple of months the remote wont turn on/off the alarm, so i have to pull out the 2 fuses that control the alarm and leave them out for about a week (leaving me with no alarm, which i'm not happy about). The remote lights still flashes as if it's transmitting so i'm thinking the remote is fine and its definatly not the remotes batteries. When i plug them back in after a week the remote works again  . I've been told taking the fuses out resets the alarm, but why does it need reseting then? does anyone else experience this problem or know why it's possibly doing this? I have a gas/fuel switch (with no lpg hooked up) so when i have no alarm i switch it over to gas and the car wont start. This is my only line of protection :). Any help would be great.

Probably dodgy alarm firmware that locks up occasionally. Only way to fix would be to replace the alarm if it's doing it with both transmitters. Sure there aren't environmental factors involved, i.e. RF interference, metallic tint windows, etc?

I'm not sure about interference or even how to tell. It has worked and not worked in the same spot so i'm not sure about that. If i get time on the weekend i might trace the wires and see if theres a loose connection somewhere, anyone else have any ideas?
thanks for ur help tek :).

change the batturys chances are that when u start using it again it goes flat, i had a similar problem and thought the remote it self died becuase the light still come on when u pressed the button but untill i replaced the batturys i noticed that the red light was a **** load brigther and so was my range, just check the voltage on the battury and there like $2 for a new one any way
