Yeah...I put some blue neons in the footwells today...the switches are in the CD storage box......stealthed away....I currently have them wired up to the ciggarette lighter....Now my question is.....what other 12V lines could i hook into that are easily accecible (accesible by taking off dash) that will free up the ciggaret plug......

hey

its not that hard to wire it up from behind. Just take your dash off as usual, and get a really sharp knife to cut the plastic off the +ve wire. If not, u can get those screw in terminal thingos from jaycar.

I used to have neons, actuallly, cold cathode tubes like that, but i took them out...i got over them. CCFL tubes are a hell of a lot brighter than neons, so i got a bit paranoid about being pulled over

Under the centre console in front of the transmission shifter, you should find a white plug which is used for a phone connection. I believe this has a constant 12v wire in it

Should have constant and acc for it, I use that for my stacker.

Is that a neon I can see from the passenger seat.

Visible neons are ghey... If it can be seen it loses it's effect. And also provides heaps of glare for people in the car. Mount them up higher under the dash, or get some black tape to mask off the visible area.
Unless that's a light up switch which is cool.

Or camera playing tricks?

Piggy backing into the back of the ciggy lighter is easy. Undo the nut for the positive line and get a ring terminal and washer, then put it all back together then just solder onto the ground. The whole unit just pulls out. Pull the centre console out, take out the ashtray and pull the rest out.

Peace

My colour blue isnt that deep...I like that deep blue....oh well I can change it whenver I want to......

As for that visible neon stimulate...yes its a pain in the ass and I have been trying to get ideas of how to cover it....the light comes through under the steering wheel in that gap...its not actually visible from the drivers side...only through that gap where the steering wheel height lever is.....Got any Ideas?

Ah... I'm sure you can think up something, But consider taping up the neon itself, the visible part.
Or stick something over the hole. Piece of paper/cardboard coloured black, from the underside of the dash... Make a reflector for it out of foil maybe.

Relocate to a different position under the dash?

I ripped my neons out of my old car, not sure if there going into the magna yet. Possibly into a boot install but we'll have to wait and see

Peace

I wired mine up behind the ciggy lighter, its a 15min job if u know wat your doing. my switch is near the handbrake for time being, cuz i never really put too much thought into where it was gonna go. :P

I have two 12" UV light tubes in the front, gives a sweet colour, although it isn't that noticeable. Its only noticeable wen u wear light coloured clothing n it makes it glow....well that aspect of it is pretty kool!
