I will be getting a new exhaust real soon. My first mod...... and I came across the lukey website and Im sure alot of you must have too. You probably all know also that you can listen to what a magna sounds like with a LR2779 or an AL45597 sounds like. Now what I wanna know is, does it really sound like it? I spoke to some guy at an exhaust place and he told me that are pretty quiet. But listening to the sounds on the website, they dont seem that quiet.....

sounds like your after a loudish note, if your are go a magnaflow or xforce muffler.
lukey's are pretty quiet, probably a little louder than a standard VRX

I think the reason they sound loud is because they were recorded in a workshop and casuing it to echo.

If they really do sound like that, thats pretty awsome.

i got a redback rear muffler (rest of the exhaust standard) and it sound much like those lukey ones sound. I really love the sound my magna makes, not to quiet, but not too loud

I had a LR2779 on my TE 3l and it was quite quiet, still made a difference. I now have it on my KL AWD and its sooo mmuch louder, it sounds like a BMW now. Very much lower in pitch and far louder with quite a lot of rumble. I wouldnt want it any louder at all. The difference in engine noise between 6g72 and 6g74 is quite surprising.

They do actually explain how the recordings were made, they were made with a mic 1 metre away (mounted on the boot or something) and the cars were accelerated up a test track.

thats strange. I reckon the redback on my TE is louder than the redback on my brothers TH, although there is not much in it. Exactly the same muffler fitted at the same exhaust shop.
