I have the common problem with the older style car when everything is slowly deterating. My clutch is screwed and need some advice on whats the best type and costs for them if anyone can help. It is slipping badly when you try to gun it. And cause of this am driving away in shame as some ****ter cars get ahead of me. SHAME SHAME
I have an 94 v6 magna and please i hate to say it but yes lost here as to what to do. PLEASE help me..
Interesting i to have a 1994 V6si Maunual, and have now only come across around 10 manuals, anyway try a PBR clutch kit i am pretty sure Repco sell them But i can not remember the price (i fitted one to a Pajero a few years back) You usualy get the clutch and pressure plate in the kit and whilst replacing the clutch get the thrust bearing replaced as well

your mechanic will be able to buy it cheaper than you can most likely, then he adds a little to the price when he sells it to you, but its less than repco would mark it up. it would be a mechanic replacing it right?

If your car is basically mechanically stock then a replacement OEM or OEM equivalent clutch would be just fine. Keep mind though that you can get an upgraded beefier clutch fitted for less than a replacement genuine clutch will cost you. The lesson here is probably look for a non-genuine item as a replacement :)

Not really - I just bought a PBR clutch kit from Burson's for $158 ('88 TN), took out the gearbox just to realise that I need the flywheel machined and the clutch-fork ball joint seemed worn. So I call Burson's for the fork, they say call Mitsubishi - I call Mitsubishi, and got chatting to the guy - He actually asked where I got the clutch and how much - and I was surprised to find that they were $40 cheaper for the clutch kit.. (The fork was $270 - He was as surprised as I was [and no, I'm not getting it])
They're not cheaper for everything, but still worth calling for these things..

:) thanks for the suggestions. but sorry to say have no faith in the dic* head mechinics in my town  They f**ked up my partners skyline just this month along with scrtching the paint work. These were the ones i ws told the best as i previously went to a mechanic for the past 5yrs. But have just had to threathen legal **** to get him to stop stalking me. Also i found out cause Im a chick that he thought i was an easy target for stuff ups to my car. F**kin W**ker. Sorry
But on the clutch issue i going to look around and get part myself. As i was quote for a part earlier last year for cv joint and boot kit twice the price. Managed to get the kit for $75 new. So i will try my luck again this time. but thanks

Depends on what type of drivin you are doing. If ya right foot gets a little heavy when boxed in by inferiors then you might want a bit more of an aftermarket job so it will handle better for your type of drivin. Also if you have a mechanic that is reliable then keep using them as it will help yo further down the track ( might not charge as much for labour, storing of vehicle without charging )
