Had a commpress test done on it today and they were: Cly 1 -159 psi / Cly 2 - 129 psi / cly 3 - 145 psi / Cly 4 - 170 psi.

some one told me it is on it way for a rebuild. does any have any thorghts on this please.

Hey timbow welcome to the forums!!

blue smoke could be a few things, mainly rings or valve stem seals in the 2.6's
a good way to test if its your valve stem seals is, go for a drive (2 or 3k's) then pull over and check if its still smokeing, if its not let it idle for atleast 5min's then give it a rev if its blowing smoke now its valve stem seals, but if it smokes all the time non stop its your rings and youl need a rebuild soonish

does it feel more gutless that normal?

hi timbow, welcome to the forums.

ok, with those readings from ur compression test i will say that u definately need a rebuild. thats a very sad engine at the moment. each cylinder should be within 10% of each other. as u can see, each cylinder has very different compression readings.

blue smoke is burning oil. this will mean ur rings are stuffed, which also means rebuild time.

so to answer ur question, yes, ur TP needs to get its engine rebuilt :)

Smoke on take off an idle is more than likely your valve stem seals which is an easy fix but based on your compression readings I would say your looking at a rebuild soonish. Its not desperate but when cyliders drop below 120psi i think it is then your going to have troubles

my magna has a compression reading of about 175 - 190 each cylinder and it has 320000ks on it never been rebuilt i was supprised but dud you know what you should do if the body on the magna you have now is top notch buy a v6 exchange motor from a ts magna and get custom engine mounts made and have it fitted to the tp that would be awsome
