Gday

I am replacing the double din stock player with a single din sized one (JVC LHx500 or something).
That pocket that sits under the player...does that just clip in? or does it screw in? Reason i ask is that ive ordered one, but havent recived it, but i wannabook the car in to get it fitted soonish.

well that all depends what type ya got as there is ones that clip in and others that screw in so its a bit of a toss up

Is that the one with the silver face, motorised screen, touchscreen LCD, voice activation etc? where are u getting it from? how much? :P

As for the pocket, from memory, the one in the dashboard is held on by 3 screws. Two on either side and one on the bottom.

picked it up off of ebay, 359pp i think it was. it looks very nice....sittin in a box on my bedrrom floor....

ill ring autobarn see what they have to say.

There is 4 screws.. two on each side thats all holding the pocket in..

Depends if you have Climate Control or not.

If you don't, then there is a screw in the front of it.
If you do, then it is just four screws, two either side.

That explains it then as i have climate.. sorry my mistake..

When i replaced my double din with a single din unit I used a toyota pocket about $34 from Autobarn, it just screws in under the head unit..... looks factory too... :cool:

on that note ... if a toyota pocket fits and anyone wants one give me a yell ... there's about 100+ pockets at work ... we do installs into toyota's everyday and usually just throw them away

i had it fitted thursday, and the bloke manaed to get a universal one from another car audio place up here, but it dont look quite as good as factory. I am getting one from a wreckers (Original one) so will see if i cant fit it myself...shouldnt be too hard?
