Hey got a couple of questions.
I have a 99 TH Magna I am replacing the standard speakers
Are the rear 6x9's ??
Are the fronts 6 1/2" ??
I also want to buy an amp to hook the speakers upto as well.
I will have no problems hooking the speakers up to the amp.
Where do the wires go from the amp?
I assume the 12V goes to the battery, GND goes to any metal part of the chassis, REM (remote) where the hell does that connect to on the stock head unit??
Also my plan is to run a sub at a later stage using a monoblock not having looked a t the back of the head unit does it have RCA connections??
Cheers

Rears are 6x9 front stock are 6",
factory spaces in your doors for 6 or 6.5". Youd be able to fit 7's in there without too much hassle and an mdf spacer. 8's may be a different story.
12v to battery directly. Be sure to fuse this. You will want between 8 and 2 gauge wire depending how much current draw on your amp.
Ground goes to any metal surface correct. But this should be sanded back to bare metal. Generally the strogner the spot the better contact i will have to the battery ground. (Baby restraints are the easiest.
Rem connects to either the remote out of your headunit (aftermarket) or the acc position of ur engine. This is just a switch which enables the amp settings to be retained. And ensures that 100 amps arent being drawn through your headunit.
What headunit do you have? If you have a stock headunit. It will not have these options. You will have to upgrade to a unit with at least one set of rca outs. From there u can use settings on your amps (most amps) to filter out the non-sub frequencies.

Yes standard head unit.
I'm going to get some mates to help who seem like they know a bit more than I about this, as I'd rather buy $100 worth of beer and drink it with them than pay someone to do it for more.
(beer will be consumed after installation)
Right the amp i've got it an audioline AL2004, the guy at JB basically gave it to me it only cost $200 so that's not to bad, plus he threw in 8 guage cables as well.
Looking at the amp it has low imput and high input, the guy said because it was going to be running speakers only I should run the high input, could anyone explain this to me?
There are some other cables that came with the amp that look like they are intended to plug into the high input. On the amp it reads "+- GND -+".
What do I run from the head unit to these connections?
considering you are using your stock headunit, it won't have RCA outputs. Thats what the high level inputs are there for. You need to connect up the speaker output wires from your headunit to the 'high level input' plugs. So all you need to do is match up the wires (front, rear, left, right etc) and u should be all set.
GND is ground? with the wiring kit you should have a red and black cable. the black one is usually shorter, and thats used as the ground cable, connect it to that -ve, gnd or whatever terminal its called to your amp and a solid piece of metal on the car. Try to keep this cable as short as possible.

Ok i've got that sorted speakers should be in powered by the amp this weekend.
Now phase 2 of my plan is to put a 10" sub in the boot.
I was told I can get another audioline amp and hook it to the original amp via RCA and piggyback the REM and 12V connection and just gound it, anyone ever heard of doing this before?
Would this effect the power outputs at all?
Assuming that I have 2 amps running how would I get a sub hooked upto this system considering that the head unit has no RCA connections?

What colour wire does the REMOTE from the amp connect to on the stock wiring loom for a '99 TH magna'????

Check out here (http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/Mitsubishi-Wiring.pdf) for wiring info
Not sure with high level inputs. I wouldnt bother dude, If you're gonna buy two amps and a sub, you may as well spend another $200 and get a good headunit.
Other than that, i think you can still use the low level rca out of the amp, if you have high level inputs. So just rca leads from the line out of the first amp into the line in of the next amp.
You wont have any probs with that wiring setup. Just make sure u have it fused to the total of all the fuses on the amps.
