Ok guys I'm starting to run out of cheap mods but I've still got the bug so I'm considering doing some debadging on my car. I've read through the guide and it pretty much covers everything just wondering if anyone has had any experiences doing it here and any hints and tips you've got. Also I suspect the answer is glue but if I decide I want to put the badges back on is there anything special I need to use?

Being a slow friday night I jumped into photoshop to see what I could do I removed the magna and advance v6 badges what do you guys think leave em on or take em off? I've also still got 3.5l badges on the side panels but I might wait til I get clear side indicators before I touch them

hehe...i just noticed that your wing ..is that a aftermarket wing?
it doesnt' looke like a TJ series wing..

by the way i think it's quite plain removed all the badges off...
i think leave the Manga badge and remove the rest mite look better..

i was thinking move the Magna badge to middle top section of the boot ,
just like TH series

Thanks for your input Ymmij
Nup thats a mitsubishi wing, Basically when I was buying the car they said oh your a young looking guy I bet you want a wing and I'm like err yeah sure if you throw it in for free :) I thought it would a dodgy cheap one but was pleasently surprised with the shape of this one it's not over the top plus it has the pretty red lights!

Yeah I know some people think plainer is better I'm kinda torn between the two atm I quite like the silver lettering but it would be easier to clean debadged :)

Keep Magna remove Advance/V6
To put them back on you can do two things. .... Buy new ones $10-$20
or get some doublesided tape and stick them back on...
To remove I used thin fishing line..but you could use dental floss....
then you would need to wax/greese remover, to remove the excess gum. and a bit of cutting compound to remove the outline ...then some polish to make it look shinny.

that seems to be what everyone thinks would be best, I just knocked up a quick photoshop with the advance removed and I think it looks a bit lopsided. Like writing on the left but nothing on the right maybe I should just leave it how it is :)

put magna on right and leave left blank.

Get rid of either just the advanced or the lot excluding the tri-diamond thingo.
As I've got rid of all the old badges on my TR & going to get a small tri-diamond to put in the middle of my boot like the new standard ones :)

The only trouble is having my boot key hole where the new tri-diamonds are. So its either a smallish one or lose the key hole :D
Who needs to open the boot from the outside anyway? :D

Easy cleaning => remove badges and have replacements air brushed on.

Leave the triple diamond and maybe get the boot garnish with 'MAGNA' moulded in it or move the 'Magna' badge to the plastic garnish underneath the triple diamond.

Do some more PSing... :)

I removed the "Magna" and the "Executive V6" badges and just left the triple diamond on my TJ.... and it looks a shit load better than before. A lot slicker..... I've definitely cast my vote to debadge.

I wouldn't just remove the "Advance V6" and leave the "Magna" on the other side.... I started out doing that but when you stepped back and had a look at it, it looked lopsided so I removed the "Magna" aswell.

speaking of which, I was at bunnings in Joondalup on the weekend (saturday morning) and saw another TJ there that was completely debadged including triple diamond front and back.... I didn't think that that looked all that great, looked like it was missing something. IMHO

did that car belong to anyone here? (had an RPW sticker in the rear windscreen)

i wanna get 3.0 badges over my indicators, cause people think its a 3.5 :\

Then i should get 2.4 badges :D Now that would make people wonder... Or laugh, either way

Didnt think they made 3.0 badges.....

But "V6" above the side indicators would look the business. perhaps even "V6 Supercharged" knocked off from a Calais......for rice (or not).....

good job insomniac I actually had a play around in ps last night and did that very thing although being a newb at it I couldn't work out how to get the blue paint around the magna to match in the the paint up there? guessing its a blending setting. I'd love to go have a play on my car moving them around but I'm worried they won't stick back on!

on another note I fitted some clear vt style indicators. Thinking the two 3.5 badges above them will have to go now because they look off centre. Thanks for the suggestions guys and keep them coming. I just havn't had any time/guts to do anything about it yet.

If you do take off the cromed tripple-diamond badge, you could sell it to me.. I'd love to replace the crappy plastic one on my TE.

(Even though I want your bade, My vote is take off the others and leave just the tripple-diamond.. it looks the best)
