Hey guys got a couple of questions about changing over standard speakers.
Got out the 6x9's in the rear to find my pioneers basket is to wide, the mounting holes are the same and the magnet fits(just, prolly need to shield from the boot spring) but the actual cast surrounds of the speaker wont sit flush in the hole, has anyone encountered this before and would an mdf spacer do the job?

Second question is removing the front speakers, I'm thinking it's a door trim off job which probably needs circlip pliers to get the window winder off, am I correct?

Cheers Matthius

Sure, if you have some kind of hardcore tool to remove them, go ahead. Some ppl use a cloth, but I like using two flat head screwdrivers to remove the clips.

As for the rear speakers, how much do they protrude by? I reckon, if it doesn't sit flush, but the grill can still be screwed back on, its fine. If it vibrates, shove the spaces with foam or whatever. If you want to make a mdf spacer, then go ahead :P

If you dont want to use the stock grills...then eh...there's too much work to have the carpet sit flush and look nice against aftermarket grills. Also, no point advertising your system in carparks. Up to you :)

How hard is it using two screw drivers? :)

And the rear speakers wont screw down as is, I'd have to cut some of the rear shelf away, I think it's because it slopes in from the screw holes and the eurovoxe baskets were straight whereas the pioneers are like curved, it sits up about an inch :( yeah I'd prefer to have the standard grills on bit it's not looking promising. It'd probably help if i could get my head in there to see, damn rear window.

Anyone experianced something simillar ?
