I was already impressed with your gutsy 4-banger and now the new note is tops... awesome.
What was it you said to me a while back?... "You can keep your extra two cylinders!" ;) he he... true.
I saved the recording with Firefox ok... right clicked on link and Save Link As... strange it doesn't work for you.
Edit: I had to download Booya's clip with Internet Explorer from memory.

firefox wasnt working for me either, used IE instead. Like mine sounds like you got a bit of draw back as well. I dont think ill record mine at the moment as the clicking/tapping noise is all u can hear.
also there no point in having a mod if u cant share it with the community.
and can we expect to see u at the next cruise?

but i bet ur exhaust sounds great! mine sounds like a typical 4 cylinder from outside, but it sounds nice wen im driving it

i dont like farty exhausts. and it backfires off throttle. needs a ressy and mandrell bends. i put it down to lack of supports from the welding which is at every corner of a mandrell bent system allows that farty resonance
sounds tops man :doubt:

Sounds alright as your driving up to the mic, when engine noise is more predominant, but when you get past it, it doesnt sound terribly deep, reminds me of alot of other 4 bangers with similar exhausts, very farty sound in my opinion. Im sure some ppl might like that, but not me. Deeper exhaust notes are the sh!t. Just my opinion.

i like it, engine side and exhaust side.
it sounds beefy when you drive up, then goes all rally style after, sounds farty, but rally farty, not civic farty.
oh yeah and the backfire sounds mean, would certainly make me look twice

Not a bad sound at all, especially from the engine end :)
Good stuff posting the link too - although some might not like the sound, it can only serve as a guide to help other people who are thinking of getting exhausts done to go one way or another :)
Cheers,

The engine side sounds almost like mine, (gotta love the high pitch scream of the astron; like a vaccuum cleaner lol ).
I removed the bottom part of the airbox once and clipped the panel to the top half; it sounds awesome like that, just not very practical (might aswell join the crew and get a pod)
That exhaust note is mean!
if u think the astron II's hav a high pitched sound (which it does), u should hear the '94 4cylinder camrys! they're real high pitched too and it sounds funny lol

well for about $200.....i cant really complain.....i probly COULD HAVE got some "wank" brand name muffler and a full stainless mandrel bent system.......but i have better things to spend money on....

you dont need a wanky brand muffler, just decient piping and not cat back. seems only cat back systems do that rattttatatatatatatatatatatatat noise up top

I'm pretty happy wiht mine, I got my brother to do a few drive by's so I could see what it sounded like, I tried recording on mini disc but the quality was really bad, any tips on recording?
i just sat my digital camera on the side of a road and drove past (obvioulsly not a road where someones gonna walk past and rack your camera).....for some reason my digicam has suprisingly good audio recording.....but the video is pretty siht...then i just used a program called Virtual Dub, and just saved the audio......

A question regarding this.....well i dunno how to explain it but here i go.....i own an auto 2.4L TE, when i bought it, the previous owner had already installed a 2.25" cat-back exhaust on it with a straight-thru muffler on the end...("prospeed muffler" or sum Sh1t)
anyway....wen the engine is cold and has just been started up, it does this highly irritating rattttatatatatatatatatatatatat noise between 2500 - 3600 rpm.....it only does it the first time it reaches this rpm range....wen i go between this rpm range the second time, its perfectly fine....and the rest of the time, this rattttatatatatatatatatatatatat noise is only noticeable up at about 4800+ rpm
I didn't know wat the hell was goin on, so i took the car into Carline in Perth and they heard it and sed, that the magna has a Raspy engine....some explanation that was! but yeh i still haven't got a clear answer to y it does this. can someone help?

Not true, my SOHC 12v 6G72 system had that farty noise all the way through it and it had extractors plus 2.5" mandrel bent cat back.
