I just bought a te mangna and i heard that it was mistake from eveyone.
I proved them wrong once i beat all the VS comm. and EL falcons.

My concern is the timing belt. Because the timing belt is made out rubber (not a chain like the VS) can it snap under thrashing conditions. Is there a way to make it stonger.

Ummmm, let me tell u what mine has been thru and u can asses wether u need a stronger one.

I sometimes thrash the **** of my car only in a straight line, my auto had been to 6000 rpm in D changing gears. Then the usualy take off at the lights all the way to 5800 rpm normal under full load and then the usual very quick step from 3 or 4th gear down to 2nd and off it goes with no probs.

And the timing belt on my Magna has been on there since 90,000kms    and the current ks are 210,000kms this is not good its actually very bad and very good, but dont try this on ur car, so its done an extra 30,000kms over its replacement.
It is going to be replaced within a few days, and yes i know its stupid but its not an easy job nor a cheap one to do either, and u always end up putting it off.
I will replace it soon to save my engine from dying in case the belt snaps, but it looks like they are still very very strong units.

So i reakon u dont need a stronger one at all, but u should also ask the guys who have turbos, if they have gotten different belts.

they last 100,000km plus, so if yuo plan on driving hard best to be safe and change at say 60,000km. and they are strong enough never to break unless worn. they only turn the cam and at speeds and lubed up isn't all that hard to do.
