I'm just wondering if many people have put turbos in there magna's. I own a te magna (V6 manual) how much would the turbo cost me.

Also i heard that the timing belts can snap. Has this ever happenend to someone? How to make it stronger?

To answer your first question, yes a few ppl on this forum have turbo'd their magna's. Not sure on exactly how many, at least 4 or 5 that I know of. Use the search function, you should find a few useful threads that may be able to answer a few of your questions. As the turbo topic has been covered a few times.

Hi mate. When it comes to 3rd Gen V6 turbo conversions you've got about two options. There's Street Torque in Alice Springs who'll do you a single turbo like Booya has got, or RPW in Perth who can knock you up a twin turbo jobbie like Velocity has. Don't expect much change from $10,000 for a single or $12,000 for a twin. Expect to pay more though if you want to run lots of boost and have a strong engine... I know Booya's turbo conversion cost him quite a bit more than $10,000 even if a lot of that was R&D costs.

dont forget you can now supercharge your magna or $7000 drive in drive out, with a 5 yr warranty

but yeah, i remember seeing quotes from rpw around $8000 for a single turbo kit, if your really serious i would start hunting around e-bay/jap wreckers to find some 2nd hand bits, will bring the cost down a bit (fmic, turbo).

later

Id look at the AAC / Sprintex supercharger kit for 220kw and $7,000 quid later for a 3.5 :D

What about the timing belt because i'm really scared that it might snap,
With quick shifting, dropping the clutch and burn outs.
If the car stolls is it that appling a lot of strain to the belt.

I want to get this problem worked out before i start modding it heavily.

No need to make it stronger. Timing belts are a consumable item. It has to be replaced every 100,000km or so. If not, it WILL snap (although it might go for 200,000 before this happens). Don't risk it - it's part of the essential maintenance on any OHC engine running timing belts.
