Well, in dads KH Ei, after 250 thou kms, it had started to burn oil, rapily! Taken to the mechanic, after a quick look he said it'd be about $500 to fix and would be done that day. At the end of a day, gets called, and says he needs it for another 4 days and it'll now cost $900 to fix! It was the 'stemcell seals' that needed to be replaced. Now, as he was collecting the car, he starts it, and it jitters a bit and take longer to start than usual, and then noticed that there was NO lighting on the dash whatsoever - yes, this means no visible speado because it's all lit up. Now he has to take the car to an auto electricion to see what the problem is, because the mechanic claims he didnt break it... :nuts:
Anyone know how serious the dash prob could be? just a loose connection, or fried computer?

$900 for valve stem seals...... :confused:

i just bought a set for my car....fair enuf its only a 4cyl and ther's only of them but they cost me like $30........i cant imagine them costing much more for a v6 let say MAX $80......

so $820 labour......hmmmm bit suss if u ask me.
