Greetings peeps.Just picked up a magna tj dual fuel 175,000 service history to 135,000 Cost me $8000 rang the service fellas they told me timing belt has not been done.It's an ex repo sales reps car.Goes really well ,oil still like honey after 500k.Thinking bout werribbe mitsu or repco for timing belt .What do youse reakon bout all this peeps? Good to be here.I decided to buy after reading here Hope i've made the right move cos now i am in hock up to my round ones :nuts: or :cool: ????????????

I think you might get mixed reponses in regards to the pros and cons of having/maintaining a dual fuel Magna... I was always of the understanding that LPG ignites at a much higher temperature thus can break down the components of a standard engine faster.

There are a few members here with dual fuel and clued up folk who might be able to give more insight into it... Choonga springs to mind, I am sure he probably has asked the same or similar questions too.

Definitely get belt done soon! Also make sure you put a genuine mitsu belt not some cheap imitation. It should cost around $140 for the belt and installation $260 ( I paid this for my te). I say get it done at mitsu cause they know what they are doing.

As to LPG, I definitely kills the engine quicker. Be sure to run every second or third tank on quality petrol.
