Hey Peoples
I have a TJ Exec, and the remote has decided to stop working, so i took it to Mitsu and this guy got inmy car, shut the door and held the remote under the steering wheel and did something, then 5 seconds later he got out and the central locking worked out. Anyway, its happen again, but he said next time he would charge. Does anyone know how this did this. I read a post in this forum from another guy who was wondering how to reprogram the remote, and i tried it and did sweet **** all. So if anyone could help me would be great, and sticking the key in the door sucks
Cheers
Ryan

Have the remote in the vehicle:
1: To enter programming mode, turn the ignition between ACC and ON 3 times within 5 seconds and leave at the ON position. The hazard lamps will flash once if successful.
2: Within 5 seconds of awknowledgement, press any button on the remote switch.

i get the hazards to flash, but then pressing anything on the remote does nothing, is there certain key combo? or special place you need to hold it? Still cant get the thing to work!!!

no i think you can press any key, just press the green door open one (i have a TH so am assuming its the same remote).....should work unless your remote battery is really low

yea i tried that and nothing. the key entry thing defiantly works as it only got reprogrammed 2 days ago, and new battery. The dude told me it was my mbile phone throwing off the signal and not to put it in the door hole.

Thats what it says in the manual to do, I'd say the remote is rooted.

well if the remote was just programmed a couple of days back then it should still work unless you remote is stuffed, the other thing is if your car battery was disconnected.....reset etc then you would need to reprogram your remote. So yeah if it wont reprogram then your remote is probably stuffed.

yea maybe, but apperently some nokia phones can stuff em up... thats what the mitsu dude was telling me, he looked at it for me and he reckond it was fine and was in working shape. SO i will try just pressing the green bottom and see what happens

When I got my VRX, i had to open the remote, and re-solder the battery harness on to the board, to make sure the remote didnt keep resetting.

Hey my remote has decided it's gonna work when it feels like it... so sometimes I have to twist the bloody key in the door (I know, its shocking... the physical exertion of it all) and other times, the remote will work, and I have a very nice and easy entry into my car.
I'm thinkin battery on the blink? If not would resetting it fix the problem?

Nah mate I only get one remote. Such is the disadvantage of buying a second hand car.

So someone else has the spare keys to your car.
That is not a disadvantage of buying a 2nd hand car, you should just get the spare keys.
I passed mine on. 2 remotes and 3 keys.
And BTW i've reprogrammed my remotes a couple of times. But i encountered funny business. After i do the 3 key switches, my hazards don't flash. The remotes still program fine, but i don't get the flashes. Where as when the Mitsubishi dude did it, the hazards did flash. Maybe they have tricky **** going on...

Alright, I'm a bad person and I should burn in hell for not getting the spare keys when I bought the car.
Even if I did have a spare set, it doesnt fix the first bloody set!
Now can you help me or not?
