Hey guys!
Just after a bit of advise here... I have a 3.0L TE and it's lowered. I need to tow a furniture tailer on the weekend and was wondering if I'm going to have any problems. Never towed anything before - has anyone had any bad experiences??

I have towed a trailer with furniture with my car (30mm drop with pedders springs) and had no problems towing (and I have a manual too!!!).
Just take it really easy and go real slow over speed humps/driveways. Make sure not to over load the trailer and leave plenty of braking room as you will certainlly feel the additional weight. Never attempt turns at speed and always indicate a touch earlier than normal.
So if your car isn't overlly low and you havn't overpacked the trailer, you shouldn't have a problem as long as you take care and drive sensablly.
I also increased the presure in my rear tyres by 3-4psi to account for the higher loading on the rear.
Good luck

try and put the heavy items at the rear of the trailer so it is as not to put too much downforce on the towbar.

i saw a lowered car (cant remember what type) towing a car on a car trailer.
he obviously didnt notice (i dont know how) but his tyres were rubbing up against his gaurds and i rekon he would have lasted all of 5 mins b4 the tyres popped. was smoke spewin off the tyres!

I'd be real careful about putting the heavy stuff at the back of the trailer 'cause yoy will get the sways up. I towed a car trailer complete with VH SL/E from Melbourne to Geelong with my TF 5 speed which is lowered. We were just careful about where we placed the car on the trailer so not to overload the towbar and keep the Magna as level as possible. It did 100km/h easy ( in 4th, never tow using 5th gear ) and it was very stable.

I have had problems with towing in cars with lowered springs that weren't very stiff where they would bottom out. I also had a commodore that used to scrub the back tyres on bumps with 2 adults in the back but when I towed a properly loaded skyline on a car trailer (heavier than the commie) it didn't scrub.
mines lowered and ive put really really heavy loads on it, only had drama's once when the tyre copped a nail through it didnt hold on the highway lots of burning rubber ect..
never had an issue with the wheels rubbing on the inside of the gaurds, and the wheel deep inside too

Just be carefull when reversing lol
Just make sure the trailers balanced and you'll be sweet. If it's balanced it doesn't matter so much if your car is lowered. But there should be a little weight on the towbar otherwise you will jacknife if you have to brake heavily.

I remember when i rented out this crappy yellow trailer and as i was on beach road, the bloody thing fell off the ball and was held there with the chains
Luckily, the road was empty so i stopped and i hooked it back on. This happened about 5 times and ONLY with this trailer.
When i took it back, i told the guy that there is something wrong with the trailer and he said he will check it out. Half an hour later, he rented it out to some other bloke.

It's kind of strange how you folks can tow stuff, I see a lot of the pics you have all posted and a good number have tow equipment on. For the US version Diamante, it says it on the owner's manual "No towing of any kind" Is the towing gear something you purchase and get installed afterwards or can you get this as a standard option at purchase?

You can option a tow bar from the dealer, either Factory or aftermarket item, they give you a choice (they did for my mum's car) :D
