Crap i started the car this morning and a huge bouce occured when i put it in reverse, i was told it was the engine mount behind the radiator, i was hoping you guys could give me a prive estimate on a new/used one, or if any1 has one, that would be greatly appreciated, oh and is it normal for a magna to hold up traffic going up a hill, not a big one, but i floor it and it barely pulls? WTF, im thinking its my transmission, well anyways somebody please tell me that its not going to cost much!

I got a rear one done from mitsubishi for roughly $86
So if you get it done somewhere else it might be cheaper and they wont charge as much with labour
cheers, hope it helps

Do you have overdrive on when you notice this? I've always thought that it was supposed to slip out of overdrive when you go up a hill but mine doesn't always, so I just flick overdrive off and all is well.

my overdrive button doesnt work, but the power button does, not sure what that does, but i was told it was the TPS or the distributor cap, some im just gonna go see an auto transmission specialist, hop it doesnt cost too much

Hey!
I normally take my car outa overdrive when going up steep hill's, or traveling through steep rangers, or I have the power button on! In my Magna manual it say's when the AT Mode, or power button is pressed, the transmission upshifts and downshifts at higher speeds! I use it when overtaking alot, and boy doesn't it give alot more grunt!!
Mate if your car isn't changing gears well going up hill, has it ever had a transmission service?? I had mine done not long ago coz it was changing **** house! After its auto service it flys along now, no probs..!

How much did your auto trans service cost you?
I reckon mine needs a service as I am starting to notice some jerky gear changes, especially when going from reverse to drive and also coming out of overdrive.

My Auto service cost $140, it was doing some jerky changes also, and sometimes id have it flat to the floor going up hill and it would be slow as, I thort this aint right for a V6.. The auto place I took it too had it half the day, it come back a totally different car! Mind you I have had the car from brand new, and it's never had it's Auto serviced till now! But im very happy with the work they did....!

I checked on the front insert alone and it was $68.
The problem is not the cost or work involved but do you need a press to put the new insert in?
With the over drive problem check the switch.

Looks like you'll have to start to learn the 2nd gear :)

I dont know about the V6, but my 4 cylinder TR pretty much had no pull up a hill unless i was moving already. That's how i know my car has more kW, cuz i can pull up hills pretty easily now (CAI made the most difference in this + muffler).

Yeah I had 89GSR tailgating me in his Galant going up a hill because I couldn't go any faster then 40km/h :bowrofl:
yeah i can feel the car going slower wen im going up a hill, wat i do is pretty much boot it until it changes into 2nd coz i havnt had the problem with the auto box changing gears yet, oh and i only do this to steep hills, anyways, it usually gets up the hill at the speed limit, but thats coz im always rolling, never tried a stop-start on a hill yet....
