Hi All,

For some time now, we have been having problems with the fuel guage on our TP. When the tank is half full, the guage is only reading about a quarter full.

Can anyone give me pointers on where to start looking?

Many thanks in advance.

it's always gonna suck, coz magna fuel gauges are screwed. but you could always look at your fuel sender unit. however if its reading some fuel, then its hardly faulty. part from that, your dash guage, but again if its reading something, hardly faulty. those 2 are the main thing. so unless there screwy its just a standard non fixture thing. could be ure sender unit has some gunk on the arm and not reading it properly. most viable fault i can think.

heh thats a common problem replace you sender unit with a working one and replace your 7v regulator in the cluster and that will make it read like new

My old TP had the same problem. Always 1/4 out.

The guage in my TN Elante - even dodgier, guage hardly works, but the fuel light does.

Mine's permanently empty. The low fuel light works...

The sender is O/C. Being a wagon, fuel senders are rather rare.

It's an Elite Wagon (Well, a retrofitted dash.) If you do, I'd be really grateful!

lol, well they charge a $2 entry fee, and there is a 90% chance they dont look in ure tool box, and if u were realy loose oldish pants so it looks like its some rags u got so u dont stuff ure own good clothes.....
last time i went i walked out with 3 fuel pumps and 2 carbies and 2 senders, as well as random nuts and bolts and things,

yet yeah there a self serve wreakers were u take ure own tools, so i figure i pay $2 to get into the place, i may as well charge for my labour of getting the part off to
