Had a race last nite with a BMW 7.40il 1995 model i think and i lost.
Altho i had the lead at the start he raced away 10 seconds later and i noticed how slow the Mag ran @ Top gear. Very disappointing.
What can I do to improve the performance of my ride if I need to beat this 9^*^$*^).
Mate I wouldn't be too upset if I were you, I would be happier you were actually winning for much of the race. Those things are pretty powerful, 210kw and 400nm or torque. Then take into consideration that those cars cost $198,000 brand new in 1995!! I would be laughing that you almost beat him. Go the Magna!

Like Booya said its a German made V8. You cant get much better engineering unless you paid for it. lol
Basically you wont get the same topend as those puppys unless some 'real' money is spent on our engines.

Plus they go like an excel to 100kmh then fly as they are geared for auto barns and similar roads overseas..

Atleast your honest and not saying you beat it by 10 car lengths like some! :doubt:

Yes the 7 series isn't exactly a sports car, but its German engineered V8 engine definitely can handle a WHOLE lot more top end then your avg Magna :P
I've driven one of these...'98 model (demo car of course) I loved it. I still don't get the handbrake on the floor thing

funny u mention this. Down the coast on the weekend i only had one race, against a 735i BMW which looked about 1995 model. I killed it, it had pretty good midrange but i was pulling away pretty easy by the end of 2nd/start of 3rd :D
never raced a BMW before, of any kind

I think a lot of people would be surprised at how quick the big limo benzes and BMW's go.
I've driven a Lexus LS400 quite a lot and have always been amazed at how much power they have.
The other thing that surprised me was cruising at 100 kph and 180 kph....You'd hardly
notice any difference between the two speeds. So quiet, so smooth.
If any of you guys ever get an opportunity to drive an LS400 or LS430, take it, you won't regret it.
