I'm as confused as the next part, and it just gets more confusing.
there is a wagon that lives near me I see it often, and i ran into the car again the other day, now the poor thing isnt in the greatest of all conditions, kinda looks like it was dug out of a hole. but anyway
this wagon is metallic blue with the grey interior.... odd combination already, but what is weirder is the fact it has an Elante' front lip on and side skirts.... ok i have that to.... but it also has a rear garnish around the exhaust.... and it looks like it's part of it,,,, not added on.
looked in the interior..... elant'e steering wheel. Digi dash guage, power windows, elante bucket seats, with matching rear those hard to find kind of dish star rims off the SE option. and the badges on the rear state mitsubishi magna Elant'e
now im pretty up on all the models, including overseas and LE's made, but i have never ever heard of an elant'e wagon..... so its a custom job..... wrong
the owner has had it from factory, and he got it offered to him from mitsubishi as the car was. originally had 25ks on the clock and now has over 200, 000 something.. all the compliance plates read that what the car came with is stock. and on his insurance is listed as an elant'e wagon.
as for the minor details, 2.6 5 speed efi, color painted surrounds on the door and the black elante door handles that are pvc and can be painted unlike the chromes.

anyone got any info or have one...... coz to me they do not exist and if they do then this bastard is lucky and had better fix it up.

sounds fake to me i have sorced alot of information on the elante and it just sounds like hes found a elante and put all the **** on to his wagon

what rims are you talkin about?? becuase the se option rims where 14" and had like tiny spokes towards the end of the rim and looked as crap as elante mags

yeah, ive never heard of 1 and i know just about all the magna options ever made.
the lip round the back, yes it does have it, and its split just like the sedan 1 on the sides then a single piece round the back part and over the muffler. its not fibreglass either, and matches the same lines are the sideskirts.

yes the small spokes at the end with the big flat area in the middle is the SE option wheels. ive never seen them on a wagon, but im pretty sure these were 15"
and, hate to doubt you, owning an elante and all. but are you sure there not pvc..... coz you cant scratch the elante ones..... and if u do, its not metallic chrome underneath..... sure ure car hasnt had a do over?

yer my bad there not painted stock chrome ones there a dall metel underneath and yep u sure can scrach the paint off of the elante ones all of mine i have had to touch up with black paint also i remember DJ_bells elante and the black paint was almost scrached off compleatly on his drivers door, but there defently painted metal

also did u get a chance to look inside if so did it have the huge ugly wing control behind the wheel like on the se,elite and elantes??

those wheels in the pics aren't it, they were classified as glx option wheels. the ones i saw are kinda like the bowling ball wheels, but go to points, as opposed to being straight lines, there kinda like sigma mags, but the magnas did have them. and yes i was in the car and yes it has the elante' style steering column controls.
but the back seats. there not like normal station wagon or se/ elite wagon seats, there kinda like the front seats, with the lip thing and wrap rounds. and the materials worn, nowhere near newly done.
no i dont have pics, dont exactly carry a cam round with me, and ive never heard of an elante wagon either.
if this is authentic, mustve been a 1 off with mitsu experimenting, and basically a lead up to the now sports wagon.

its either a really good imitation. or a freak 1 off. but the insurance papers and rego even list is as so, lol, yes i did ask him, i had people at the shop looking at me going whats the point, its a magna wagon. lol, if only they knew tho. the guy i dont think has a clue, he didnt see the thing either..... baffles me, ill have to drive around my area now try to find it. hopefully he doesnt have a garage :confused:

how do u think your chances are on getting the vin number becuase if u can get it i can get my uncle or a mates dad to check it up down at the mitsi plant and that will tell us if it was a once off or if its a phony lol, sounds like it might have been a once off weird how its a 91 model tho thats near the end of the gen1s you would have thought they would have made it earlyer so if they liked it they could have put it in production

well what do you know, the first picture rims, the ones u listed as the tp elante' is what he's sporting.....
theres also no such thing as a factory manual Elite..... but there was 1 made...... u never know.

Could it be one of the limited run "Grand Tourer" wagons? My old girl brought a TP Grand Tourer sedan back in 1990. The sedans came in a choice of 3 colours ( white, burgundy and blue) with the injected engine, sports front seats ( Elante) with special trim, Elante front and rear spoilers, TN Elite wheels ( gold) , Elante suspension and gold striping. I believe that the sedans were produced as a limited run to mark the end of the first gen bodyshells. They sold from the very end of 1990 to the start of 1991. The Grand Tourer wagons were pretty much the same deal but with red replacing the burgundy and TP elante wheels replacing the gold TN Elite ones. All were either manual or auto. These also were made toward the end of the first gen wagons about a year after the sedans. I think the one you have seen might have just had a dash replacement. I hope that this might of helped.

ill 2nd this i have a GT sedan, i got analog dash, nice seats, pin stripes, firm shocks, manual, efi front and rear spoiler, no gold rims some idiot sold em befor i got it from memory it has november 1990 on the plate, pics of it are on the post your ride thread

yer i know u can put a elante badge on but its really hard to get the wingcontrol from a se,elante,elite and the GTs had the smaller wing control that was on the execs and glxs u would have to rewire the WHOLE dash to do that right down to the heater control and so on :nuts:

well, i can mod any magna interior and combination make it anything, like digi dash, power windows but exec steering control, which will be mine, and if u take the dash out, itll look stock, coz i just remove the entire loom and customise it....,. alot of work but can be done.... the main thing out of the whole car is the rear garnish.... you cannot get those anywhere.... they dont exist, and no sedans dont fit, been there tried that... if it was fibreglass ok, but it has everything that a elante has with the inclusive digi dash.... thats the odd part. it may have been a 1 off runner from the freaks at commonwealth, the manual 88 elite was, so maybe this was.... but still odd its the very last model.

and oh yeah, cant be a GT coz yeah, no gold rims, had the tp elante ones, those featured by mad lante and secondly yeah the badge.

GT cars do not have any special badging, they only had "MAGNA" on the tailgate - no spec name.
