I just got my TH Sports last week and Im in the beginning stages of building a decent system - looking for quality of sound and volume. So a few questions if you could help me out...
The system Im looking at is:
Splits with detachable tweeters like your up front. 6x9 rears. 4 Channel amp for front and rears. Single 10" or 12" sub and monoblock amp in boot. I already have a JVC deck with dual RCA and sub control.
1. How'd you mount those tweeters? i.e. how'd you get the hole in the door? I havent figured out where the best place to put them is yet.
2. Are the stock front speakers 6" or 6.5"? To replace them will I need a shallow mounting speaker?
3. Will any 6x9" fit in the back parcel shelf? I had a quick look and the factory ones seem pretty tight... (and only 15W!!!! )
4. Also I heard the other day not to use 6x9s in the back with a sub??? Why not?
Thanks in advance
Pete
P.S. You have one neat looking system!!

1 - Depends what mounting hardware comes with ur splits. The best spot to mount depends on what u like. Try to get it as close to the midbass speaker as possible and as far away from the listeners ears as possible for the best results.
2- Stock are 6". There are spaces in the doors for 6 or 6.5" speakers. Try and get 6.5" if possible.
3- 6x9 speakers are stock in the back, most brands will fit in with no problems, (they will all fit the holes but u may have trouble fitting the stock grill over the top of them) 15 w rms is what most headunits put out anyway.
4- 6x9's are ok for most applications. Speakers should be round for sound quality. The only reason they made oval speakers is to get more cone area onto ur parcel shelf. this is to improve bass response, using the boot as your enclosure. If you have a sub you will have no need for this bass from your 6x9's as the sub will play this.
Don't focus too much energy on ur rears, the fronts should be ur main aim (I just unplugged my rears recently cos they were pissin me off) If you have a sub, sometimes the rear speakers can cause cancellation issues with the sub. If you have a big enough sub, the pressure can blow the rubber seals :)
Stick with the stock ones, and fade em back, and put any money u were gonna put into rears into a bigger amp or better front splits. Should be fine going with the 4 channel amp.

I got myself a 6.5" clarion screen but i already have a alpine deck in the car so i am considering of puttin the screen back in the car but if i do i wont have a pocket at the front of the car no more.
Wot do you guys reckon.

umm, so u replaced the passenger airbag for another glove box? if u did, theres no respect comin from me, that **** is illeagal and stupid, airbags are there for a reason. u might tell me that u barely ever carry passengers in ur car, but wat about that one time that u do? i know its up to u and thats ur decision but i think its just a stupid move IMHO. :doubt:
