Can any TE owner advise if they come with some sort of engine cover?

Funny thing was I got a 100,000km service done and when I drove it home and inspect the job I sort of thinking what are all those holes for and started to wonder if it should come with a cover?

Just want to make sure I don't go back there and ask for something I didn't have

Any help appreciated, if someone has a photo with a standard TE engine cover (if any) please post

Thanks!

Nah you shouldnt have one. Thats just where the Sports/VRX/Ralliart/AWD covers bolt on to the plenum if you had one of those

Magnas that are meant to have them will also have fixings attached to the rocker cover used to help hold the engine cover on.

That said with the right parts the engine covers can be installed without the need for a new rocker cover.

I do, its not going to make any difference to heat build up unless you have a vented bonnet anyway. All the leads look like crap.

If they have the same plenum as other 3rd gens then yes.

The mitsu part numbers you will need can be found in this thread:

so what if it isn't he could just be using the image for illustrative purposes rather than taking a photo of his own...

With the TE only the Verada got the engine dress cover, iirc it had a decal saying 3500 24 valve or the like. The TF Sports gained the cover and had a decal with Sports across it. Just 1 more thing to rattle or loose.

These are the tabs AKKO is talking about

Yup, the engine cover can be installed without those however.

Aslong as you bolt the cover on using the three bolts that bolt into the plenumn it shouldn't come loose but wont ever be as secure as one that also has those & the rocker cover fixings.
