I replaced the magna's clutch kit 4 years ago, and now it's giving up the ghost again. do i have to get a whole new kit, like my repairer says (cost me nearly 700 last time) or can it be fixed (say, by an engineer)?

or give RPW a try - I have one of their 'Semi Ceramic Paddle Clutch brass button' clutches - so far so good - no complaints.

If you have to replace something - always look around to see if you can replace it with something better. ... and as their website says...

"The clutch disc when worn out simply needs to have the clutch ceramic pads replaced without replacing the whole clutch assembly"

Just get a replacement exedy clutch. The RPW unit (which I bought too) is just a repadded one of these with a heavier pressure plate.

It's not worth your while, I had a clutch specialist install mine and they showed me where the exedy markings were on the clutch that was a "RPW custom" unit.

It was definitely better. The pressure plate was heavier duty, still exedy I believe, he didnt show me the pressure plate, just the clutch plate.

So we kinda were and weren't done over. We could've gotten the same item cheaper direct from exedy.
