I regret to advise members that the foundry that we source our semi-finished cams from has advised us they they do not, yet, make billet cams for the 6G72 and 6G74 engines.

Since we and Crow Cams inquired together, we are hoping that our combined "buying power" might encourage them to make a move towards manufacture. Please don't ask me when that might be because l don't know.

I am currently awaiting a response from the Engine Plant at MMAL about buying cams of them.

It's a work in progress. At least people are looking into it and not thinking: it's a Magna, why would you want cams for it.

Why ?

I received a call today from the Mitsubishi Engine Plant, advising that the camshaft manufacturing section had made all the cams that MMAL require for the "outgoing" 6G74 engine and has hence ceased to operate.

Dam and blast!

I got the distinct impression that, had l called them six months ago, we might have had some luck. "Ce la vie".

Anyway, l was pleased that they at least had the manners to respond to my inquiry.

We'll just have to put more pressure on our manufacturer in Istanbul.
