my brother in law has a 95 model magna and the fuel gauge has stoped working all together. This happened after a string of bad luck, drove to work and turned the car off. went to go home and it just wineded and winded but no go.left it at work over night and called a mechanic the next day. The mechanic came and looked belted the fuel tank a few times with a rubber mallet and said it was the fuel pump. Took it to the garage and had the fuel pump replaced, still no go, so off it went to mitsis and they had a look, ok its your computer, $2500 later and a new computer it went, but no fuel gauge????????? this has been going on for 4months but he hasnt done anything about it so mee to the rescue, what do you guys think it may be????????

i am very mecanicly minded with nissans and holdens but not so magnas tell me where to look and i will look. I rekon it may be when the mechanic hit the tank with the mallet????

any ideas.

may have come unplugged while they replaced the fuel pump, check the connectors at the tank end

I think you'll be replacing the "Fuel level sending unit" which is inside the tank next to the pump.Good Luck and let us know.
