Just wanted to know what you all thought about fitting a 70mm throttle body, would there be any gain or stick with what i have?.

Who has a 70mm TB? RPW modified three Magna ones and stopped. Are you going to use a Magna one or another one?

Redav. I was bored last night and was looking at a standard T/B i have here. Anyway i machined it to 69mm, leaves about 15 thou wall thinkness, dont know if thats safe???.
Also was reading a post and read that Booya said a Au T/B would fit the magna but with MODS, It bolts on ok but you need to wire up the TPS & ISC, dose any know how to this. Also you could easily machine the Au T/B to 70mm.
Do you think there would be much of a gain in doing either of these T/B's?
Check this Magna out, beautiful car, money is the problem though.

Cool. Leave it at 69, it will get some giggles out of some people :D. I reckon that once you've oversized the TB, the restriction then becomes the plenum. I haven't looked at it but there's supposed to be a lip there which can be removed. How does the butterfly match up with the enlargment? RPW had issues with their three TB's as they did it on the dodgy and the butterfly would stick.

Yeah, that's Booya's car.

Wouldn't have a clue sorry. I know of a mechanical mob in Brisbane who have done some work on Commodores. I reckon asking a few mechanics or look through the automotive section of the Yellow Pages.

I suspect yours is the pick of the bunch. Malcom had his stick open.

The only problem we had with my 70mm T/B was that it was sticky - we had to use a secondary spring to close it when we go to idle.
But I HIGHLY recommend it - it increases throttle response tenfold and top end air flow is much better!!
