I was just wondering if any 1st gen ppl actually go on any of the cruises, or do we not go cos were too cool or cos we get laughed at by the 2nd - 4th gen ppl?
My first gens been on a few cruises. Dont get laughed at (not openly anyway lol ) plus i find that the first gen keeps up no problems through the bends, however, if the 2nd-3rd gens poot the foot down on the straights i get left behind a bit :doubt:

I took mine on a cruise once, but mine was having problems at the time, and i never went again due to not seeing the joy in wasting petrol/ money

Mine made it to several cruises. Usually whipped the second gens...
However, until I sort out what to do, it's not going anywhere.

I think AstronII torque can outdrag a 3rd Gen up to about, umm, 40... :D
1st gen stockers have half a chance of outdragging WRXes to 60
if the Rexy driver has no clue and bogs it off the line.

WHO'S GOT A FOURTH GEN ALREADY??!!

The TE-J guys don't like the TL. Long story.
The firsts will whips the seconds, by virtue of being up to 200kg lighter...

my old stock xf faclon had about the same pick up as my magna, so im thinking with alittle work ill be able to cut a few :D
which is basically my main concern/aim, is to beat my old car, and ONLY THEN will i be happy with my magna
though, u could fill the falcon with ppl and hardly feel any sluggish, load the magna with ppl, and i cant make it up that highway hill going from wollogong to campbelltown, i hafta go up bulli pass

I have taken my 1st gen wagon on cruises, not that Townsville has that many, or that many ppl go, I was gonna go on the last one but it rained so I didnt go. Havent been laughed at, on a cruise, but when I first joined copped flak from Turbo Charade, bout it being a wagon and having no go, but after he saw it I believe he has a different opinion......hummmmmm...

u should see mine atm, its a mess in the front cos ive completely ripped out the centre console and ive got all the bits where the passengers feet sit :P
and i donno how to get rid of all the bits ive removed from the car? (theres all sitting in the boot atm :P) do i take it to the tip, shove it in the bin, take it to the local wreakers?
ive got a radiator, compressor from the Aircon, the mat thing from the bonnet lid, and all of the centre console :P
(im still gettin use to nsw, as back in WA, id just leave it all in the carport till one of those curb side collection things come round and shove it all out :P)

so u cant make it up the big hill, so go up bulli instead, umm i thouhg bulli would be a ***** considering how steap it is

yeah ive seen it in nsw, but the girlfriends parents wouldnt be too happy with motorparts laying around the yard.
theyre already frowning their noses at me for doing work on the magna myself instead of having some retard overcharge me to do it instead
Going up bulli pass, i can rev the car nuts in 2nd for a short burst instead of the huge long haul up the highway.

I have taken mine on 1 magna cruise so far, but have taken it on many r31skyline cruises, never get laughed at, usually i'm the one laughing cause mine outhandles all the skylines. On the last magna cruise in tassie, Dim and I pulled away from the 2nd and 3rd gens in the group over the twisty bits, so i was stoked.
Hmmm squealing tyres all the way!!! :D

well if i do the V6 mod on my 88 tnse wagon will have to go on a couple cruises to show you fellas what a real car goes like dual throttlebody and plenum on a V6 with twin turbo to comea long time later lol
I used to represent at a heap of the qld cruises, loved the twisteys but the v6's always left me, handling wise i was never that far away but if i had some cam work i'd keep up better so i could actually go to redline, damn that short torque curve. too busy and saving / spending cash on too much these days to afford a tank of fuel for cruises. pity.
