I'm not sure whether they are the laws everywhere. Legally you're not allowed to have moving images in a car whilst driving. My headunit has moving images on it though… In reality as long as it's down low you won't get in any trouble. If you don't display it, eg roof mount it should b fine.
Yeah, everyone knows you can't have a screen that plays movies or whatever, unless it was a GPS when the car's moving. I say..dont wire it up to your handbrake, but up to a little switch down low in your dashboard somewhere. If you get pulled over ot get paranoid, just fick the switch, and all will be gone :) I was thinking about kill switch for my sub-amp before.. :doubt:

my mate has his wired up to the handbrake with a hidden bypass switch so it can be shown to be legal if need be.

I was reading the Sydney Morning Herald the other day and they were talkin about screens and whether they are dangerous to other drivers.
God knows uve seen a movie playing in someones car and uve jumped in behind to watch :D
But they said that rear roof or head rest mounted screens were legal were as front console dvd screens were only allowed to be on when the car was stationary.

Yeah its all ****ed up. I mean some big arsed 4wd come with screens inbuild at back and front, and they work while moving.. I mean that's the whole point for kids and all on long rides. Beats the "Are we there yet?" They ban mobiles, screens that have moving pictures while driving, how about banning smoking while driving? I mean ****, if ash falls on the seat while driving... most people freak out.

my dvd unit is a double-din touch screen, so yeah, it is earthed out so it works all the time, but how are they gonna know if i hide the dvds in the 1st place? its not like it has to be folded out to work properly.

Over here, it can't be in view of the driver, so if it was angled for the front passenger it would be fine.
The other night I was behind a car with roof mount DVD and it was very distracting. I can understand it being used on the open road where there are fewer cars and greater distance between them.
My eyes kept getting drawn to the screen (could be becouse it was good 'ol looney tunes and I wanted to be watching too).
