Hi, the way i connected mine was 1 hose from the top of the vacum advance(bulb like bit) to the vac port on the back of the carby(next to the idle cut solenoid).

The second line has a pink/black filter(pink side twoards the vac advance), and goes from the other port on the vac advance to the intake manifold.

Hope this helps,
Ryan

any source of vacuum will do, idealy you have a jet on the outer diaphram but it doesn't matter either way.

my 2 vacuum lines went to the rear of the carb. there is i think a set of 6 (or 8 cant remember) connectors. bout 2 or 3 of these are just blocked up and the other 3-4 have lines going in them from various places. but yeah, both vacuum advance lines on my car go into these set of connectors on the rear of the carb

they are on the manifold brenno, the 4x vacuum source plug on the back of the manifold.

If you have the money there is a place in WA that can supply a new webber and plate to suit the 1st gen Magna for $600 posted to you. They should be able to supply just the plate as well. I will check my records and let you know who they are.
