my brother owns a 2000 mod vrx and he's having a slight problem when he first starts it up. the car will start, rev up to bout 1500rpm and then the engine will shut off. do it again strate away and its fine. was wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and what did u do to fix it. seems to me that the fuel is not getting to the motor staight away.
he first noticed this happening when he hadnt driven the car 4 two n half weeks, was fine b4. also the battery is on the way out, gettin a new one soon. performance wise, its the same as b4. hope u guys can help!!! :confused:

Try adding some injector cleaning product with the next tank fill, like Wynns Injector cleaner or something to the equivalent, and see how that tank goes.

Otherwise look at replacing the fuel filter I guess... maybe leaving it sitting there has caused some sediment build up in the tank to pass through the lines and may have partially blocked it.

If it starts up and runs fine second time around then it sounds like the sender unit is ok. No point listing 101 things... start with the basics IMO.

i once had a problem like that, it was my immobiliser, the key wasn't getting registered the first time, and would always start second time. they reakon it was a dodgy key.

Well my car starts at 2000Revs which then decreases to about 800 to 1000 revs.
Is THAT normal?
