How is it, when you put 6x9's in the back of magna's, it sounds as if they got subs in the boot? Well jpeg's does anyways..pretty neato for u magna folks..

I just bought a pioneer mono block, and 2x12 subs, in a pioneer box. Love the Doof Doof :bowrofl:

the 6x9s are pioneer 2ways running straight from the deck... not quite like a sub but definately full of bass like a low vol sub... :)

If you don't have a sub. consider amping all ur speakers.

A headunit puts out around 15-20 w rms.

Hardly enough to drive my wristwatch... (Ok i dont wear one, but if i did it would run slowly off that OK);)

Most stock and aftermarket headunits give out noticeable distortion above 3/4 volume levels as well.

You need headroom

6x9" sounds good
amped 6x9" sound better
amped 6x9" + amped sub sounds ....well you have to hear/feel it to belive it

no, tims just smart, u dont have 6x9's when u have subs  (unless u have **** subs), its pointless. You are better off getting clarity through a set of 6" speakers in the rear and leaving the subs to do the bass

6x9's are great with no sub. They do a good job for what they are. At the moment I have JBL 6x9's there, I unplugged em though cos they were annoying me. We will see what happens after I play around with it.

If you're after good sq, you want a stage in front of you. My subs play low enough that they can't be located (undirectional). All the sound appears to come from the front. There's still a bit of a frequency gap between fronts and sub but Im working on that (trying to deal with rattles if I go too low) Elastic bands are good on door handles.

By using too much rear fill you are pulling everything backwards.

Eeks right, the best sound can never come from an oval speaker. It doesnt make sense. The best speakers are always round. Whether 3" 4" 5" 6" 6.5" etc. A circular cone will have a more equal spread and will produce the sounds as best as possible across the surface of the cone. (oval speakers were made to get the most cone area onto the parcel shelf.)

A lot of the time when u have subs and speakers playing into the same cavity (the boot) these can cause cancellation with the bass notes which is also undesirable.

Either way 6x9's are good for stock cars. But just because there are holes there for them doesnt mean they have to be used at all, or with that speaker size.

Please dont rush out to your car and get rid of ur 6x9's ;)

Peace

Tim
