Any One had the passinger side Power window Regulator replaced, the regulator is the whole cable motor system that if it stuffs up u have to have it all renewed. My drivers side went bout 12 months ago now my passinger side has gone just wondering if any one else has had this problem possibly caused by big speakers in the doors not spaced out enough
the divers side i think cost me bout $180 installed but the dude now reckons the left side might be around $300 installed, its like $55 for labour. Any ideas anyone why there might be a big difference ? dam this sucks!

I understand the pain too ..... I've had both my front ones die too.

First time (drivers side) died under warrenty. Then later the passenger one went too. On a rainy day of course - in the open position. Got it fixed ASAP @ $400 later :(

The dealer said it was a common problem on series 1 TJ's.

To make matters worse (and more $), I then had to get new aftermarket sound deadening in both doors. My stereo cops a workout too sometimes. I've felt air moving though driver's side electric window control switches too when there's been heaps of bass.

Obviously the stereo isn't stock either :p

my parents had the same problem with their Series I VR-X first time under warranty, second time not (one on either side).

Sounds Like a common Problem then Get this! called Mitsu The other day its $89 for the Drivers side Regulator and $235 for the Left! WFT!! i asked why he said its coz the drivers side goes more often therefore they make more in bulk! so a total repairs of $308 inc gst dam that sucks! Better "Built Better Backed'' Yeah Right !

The left side one is probably more expensive cause that's the one that brakes when you AREN'T under warrenty still lol

My dealer said he was a very common problem with Series 1 TJ's. Series 2 Didn't suffer the same fate.

Thats because mitsu released revised parts between models, my parents were assured that it wouldn't brake again after it was replaced.

My bro did tha passenger side window in his series one vrx. Rang a friend who is a mechanic and he could get a genuine mitsi one 4 $200(trade price) + $44 to put it in. Out of interest we rang our local mitsi dealer and were quoted $270 just 4 tha part!! Questioned the man on his price and he said not possible to get the part under $240 as this is cost price

Mitsubishi where having problems with elect front window regulators. This is hard to explain but, to fix the problem on some they made a slight modification on the regs and this made them have to change the part number and hence the price. Get your dealer to check the prices of the earlier and later part numbers and work out which is cheaper (I think the expensive ones are Verada).

there is a service campaign on this check with your mitsu dealer if your vehicle falls under this and have it modified before it ****s.

Get an aftermarket Alarm system. You can get options to do that upon locking, etc.

Mine do, I have an aftermarket Laserline alarm system on the Ralliart with central locking and 4-door Autowatch window closure kit.

When I lock the car all the windows automatically go up. :D
