Hey, thats strange i just got the same problem the other day, and my name is pat to, thats really wierd. i went to the mechanic and aparently it is the flexi pipinging, making a sorta sucking noise when u rev high while moving, also check the gaskets on your Pacemakers as mine have broken and make wierd noise

As said above, check gaskets, and check to make sure there's no tears in the flex pipe itself.
Other than that, it's quite possible it's just how it sounds. When I first got extractors on my SOHC 12v I thought they were leaking (This was before they cracked 50 bazillion times), turned out to just be the way they sounded.
THEN later on they cracked and I found out what that sounds like lol

couple of possibilities...if it is coming from the exhaust then the engine pipe is to blame (more of a tinny rattle) the baffles inside the engine pipe break a spot weld causing a rattle but be warned as if left too long this baffle will break off totally and end up in your cat and destroy it....not nice. i think the engine pipe is roughly $300 to buy and has had a production fix thus should last much longer. on the other hand could be alt belt either loose and noisy (more dull flapping sound) these feel tight in deflection but when some load applied will flap like crazy. also if it is a te or tf v6 check that the additional alt a/c idler pulley is not still there...it is fitted between a/c and alt....if it is still there take it off and chuck it......trust me :-)
cheers mon

I've had a te v6 and now a tf v6 and had the problem in each one at around 160 km, I replaced the engine pipe with low kms ones from wreckers. (About 400 new from mitso.)
