Hi kids, its me again.

My sub amp is playing funny buggers on me. When i turn it up, really really loud, it sorta shuts off and goes into protection, but the second i turn it back down, its all good again.

Disconnected the sub, and turned it up, no problems. disconnected the other amp and problem still occurs. my amp has two LEDs that show what 'protection' mode its on. one is thermal, the other is impedence, and its lighting up the impedence one.

sub is DVC 4 + 4 and the amp is 2 ohm stable, its wired up fine. I'm stuffed. 0 gauge power cable time?

FYI-

jvc kds895
DD2515 sub
phoenix gold qx900.1
phoenix gold qx300.4

4 gauge wirinng into stinger distro block, and 4 ga into amps again. 4 ga grounds too.

Recheck ur ground.

Check ur connections to ur sub and to all the terminals.

Are any of the connections to the sub shorting out against another terminal or against the sub itself?

How many amps is this pulling (fuse rating?) wires should be able to take it.

If it only happens at high volume I'd say a ground problem.
How is it wired up??? In parallel for 2 ohm load?

connections are fine, been over that. its wired up so if u look at the terminals on user manual, all of the terminals have a wire hanging out of it, so one for each voice coily thing.

basically for me its

+ - + -

and my sub has a

+ - + -

And since mine's mounted inside out, + goes to - etc etc.. dual voice coil, 4+4...

I have a bastard amp aswell. A clarion 400w. What ever speaker i attach to it it crackles and hisses as soon as some bass hits it, i mean any bass. I bought it from a friend about a month ago he bought it about 3 months ago. He threw out all the receipts for it the day he got its so no warranty for me.

But any way...... Any one want an amp. Is not broken or anything. Its a clarion 400w.

mmm, just check where your ground is mounted. Maybe take your ground mount out and scratch away some paint or something. Make sure its a secure clean earth
