Can anyone enlighten me on the "COOL BLUE" range of Hella aftermarket globes?
I've had fitted the PLUS50 type globe to my previous Verada and was very happy with the result.

What are the pros & cons of the COOL BLUE type compared to the PLUS30 and PLUS50?

I know in SA that the blue tinge is illegal.

I had them on my last car, they were fine nothing outstanding, far more white than blue. Light output is probably less than +50 but nicer colour.

I still like the Opti-Blues - 90/100W H4's for the mains and 100W H1's for the spotties.

Tried the Narva's didn't like them, although their light spread was very even.
Yet to try the Phillips bulbs - they are damned expensive.

Opti-blues are now UV Cut & ADR approved... So even in SA they should be legal.
They used to have "Off Road use only" as they weren't ADR approved.

I've got the Philips Bluevision globes. Gives a very slight blue tinge, especially when compared side by side with regular halogens. Had them a few months now with no problems. Philips also have Diamondvision globes which are very blue but are probably the most expensive I've seen and you actually lose a bit of light with these. Still a lot cheaper than HIDs, though.

the "bluer" you get the less light you'll get...
I have nice blue headlights, it is a pain in the ass sometimes...but all can be fix by using me foggies...
