Hey, can you guys who have Lukey mufflers post their known muffler model numbers plus their inlet diameter?
I think mine is the AL4-5597 and I suspect it has a 2.15ish inch inlet but I can't exactly remember. It's the bolt on muffler with the short muffler pack.
Thanks

Apparently this is THE one. Does it have a nice sound. I hate farty mufflers.

I have the LR2779. I thought the AL4-5597 was just the bolt-on version.
I think it has a nice, deep sound to it but isn't very loud. Nothing farty about it like cannons on 4 bangers. If you want louder, others have recommended a Magnaflow or Xforce.
I have experienced droning when carrying a full load though, with 5 people sitting inside and a trunk full of junk.

Mine is the AL4-5597 also. I couldn't get the 2779 anymore :(
Not sure what the inlet diameter is....

mine are cannons, but doesn't sound farty at all... very droney inside the car though. most people say from outside it sounds supercharged coz of the way it flies thru gears with that high-pitched magna scream... not a bad thing i think... i hate farty exhausts

I personally will be investing in a xforce or remus muffler when the money comes around.

Almost. The AL4 has a shorter body.
Thanks for the other feedback but I'm only interested in the Lukey's. I already have one fitted but was after the piping size.
I was told the LR2779 is just "the can", and AL4-5597 is the same but ready to bolt on?
Do the two sound the same?

I think they sound similar. I know that the LR one is probably the same 'can' as what the VR-X, Sports and GTVi use. The AL4 one is shorter so not the same. I've got a Sports one at home and it's the same length as my stock Executive one and they're both longer than the AL4 one. Someone recently posted a pic of their new muffler and I think it's the AL4 one.
Ahh ok. I just ordered the AL4 one at lunch (after being told it is the same as the LR). I guess as long as it has less drone than my tiny Lukey Turbo muffler I'll be happy :)

Well, that's assuming that I do have the AL4 muffler and have been correctly told that it's the AL4. There's an old thread here showing the mufflers.
i think i found that thread, but the pictures are no longer there. Never mind, sounds like both muffers are good...

Ok, dang. Oh well. Only thing is though I know it was a bolt on for the 3rd gens but sounds like the 2nd gens might have the same rear piping setup?

Well on my wagons the piping looks strangely similar, but I'll need to take a closer look. And yes the AL4 is much shorter then the stock muffler on the 3rd gen.
the muffler shop ordered the AL, so hope it does suit the second gens!
Has anyone heard of AL4-5511? That is the muffler that is quoted for the TR/TS V6 magna's...

Not sure, maybe. Get us some photos when it turns up :)
You may find this useful. Taken from the lukey bolt on systems pdf, sorry about the size.

Here is the AL4-5711 as fitted to my car. 5511, eh Kim? Never heard of it.

QUESTION: If these AL4 systems (for TR/TS and TE/TJ) do indeed use the LR2779 can, why aren't they a straight thru muffler like what 'jpeg' posted?
Sorry, meant to say 5711 (not 5511).
Thanks for the pics al3x.
Even though Lukey will tell you otherwise, the AL4-5711 is not the bolt on version of the LR2779. It is a bolt on Lukey Turbo muffler. The catalogue is wrong.
I have a Lukey Turbo muffler on my car, and I went to get the LR2779 bolt on (AL4-5711 for TR/TS as the catalogue says) and it is identical to my Lukey Turbo muffler, so the shop did not fit it.
Hmm! So, how does one get the LR2779 on the TR/TS? Looks like we have to purchase the "can only" and have it custom fitted?
Al3x - are you happy with the sound of your AL4-5711?
