Hey there!

I am actually a Lancer owner with a heavily modded 4G15 N/A 8V (1990 CA model).

As I need more airflow into my oversized T/B I thought it would be a good idea to buy the 4G54 MAF/MAS. Only trouble is that I can't work out the wiring colours. Anyone have the wiring diagram or pinouts for the 4G54 MAF? I will then try to match to the 4G15 wiring colours.

The wiring colours I have on the 4G54 MAF plug (from left to right looking at the wires going into the back of the plug)

1-Green w Yellow stripe
2-Pink
3-White w Black stripe
4-Black w Red stripe
5-Black
6-Blue w Red stripe
7-Blue w Balck stripe
8-None

any way heres a pic of the wiring diagram for the TP
only thing is im confused, the wires above do u mean there off of ur 4g15 becuase there different colours to the 4g54s and theres one less wire

hmm thats interesting the page says it only has 6 wires
oh well maybe im lookin at the wrong thing haha if theres anything else just ask

Can anybody help me? Why do I have 7 wires? Why can I see a Green w yellow stripe at pin1. Why do I have a Blue/red one at pin6. Why a Blue/Black one at pin7?

Nothing seems to match or make sense. I'm really sad now. :cry:

The only codes I see on the top of the sensor box are 055 and E5T05071 and 2Y04

the TN magnas are exactly the same the only thing i can think of is u got it off a 2nd gen 4g54 which has a different air box is yours like a round shape or a boxy shape ill take pics of the gen1s 2morrow

but yes sounds like uve managed to grab a 2nd gen magna MAS as the 1st gens are round but sorry cant help ya on the wiring for the 2nd gen cos i dont have a manual maybe post in the 2nd gen section im sure someone there has a diagram even if its from a gregorys
or either buy a MAS off of a 1st gen they dont cost much from the wreckers these days upullit have stacks of efi magnas you can pull one off

hmm i know you didnt ask but im farily sure the 2ndgen AFM wouldnt work on a 1st gen magna mainy cos theres more wires and there different colours

good luck would be good to hear the outcome
if you have any probs with the MAF MAP or what ever they are you can get a spare one like i said b4 at upullit from either a 1st or 2nd gen there for like $18 i think

OK Boys and Girls! Roll up roll up! Here's what I now know.

The AFM I have bought is definately off of a TR/TS Magna 1991-1996. Don't know what that is in the US (probably a Diamante or something).
Anyway I have sussed out most of the wiring. here tis:

4G15 = Magna (4G54)

PIN# Colour = PIN# Colour
1 GL = 3 BW **** IT is PIN3 *** (as I suspected the factory diagram was WRONG!!!)
2 R = 4 BR
3 GR = 1 GY
4 GB = 5 B
5 GY = 2 P
6 GO = 6 RL
= 7 BL (not used)
= 8 None

** NOTE: L = blue **

Still waiting for Mitsi Sparky to get back to me on PIN1 v's PIN 3 or 7.
Pin 3 looks to have the right circuit but the signal flow is the wrong way round according to wiring diagram. Once I get an answer I will update this.
If anyone knows the answer then please post.

UPDATE: I'm leaning towards pin 3 White w black stripe after days looking at wiring diagrams.
