Hi Guys,
Im about to have a cat back system fitted to the VRX and was thinking about going with a redback system as everyone seems to think they are the way to go quality wise. Just wondering who's got them fitted and what everyones thoughts are.
Would anyone know where I could get this system fitted in perth?
Thanks all :D

definately worth it mate !
tis a clean and tidy setup, takes about 15 minutes to bolt on !
gives a reall nice note, and u will definately feel the power increase.
as far as being mandrel / press bent.
i didnt give a hoot, it gives performance and sound....what more counts ?
u should be able to get installed for well under $450
i agree. they are damn nice and im pleased with mine..
Ice_Majik was saying that the exhausts had a good note down calder (when they could be heard over the non exhaust systems..) Im still yet to hear it properly outside of the car..
You can get a full cat back system for around $400 installed. 2.5inch mandrel bent.
In terms of performance, i really dont think changing out the standard VRX exhaust does much.. Just changes the tone and rumble..

Yeah im not expecting major gains, I just want to do it now before I tune the Greddy and get a nice note from it :D
Im just having a hard time trying to get a redback kit here in Perth. Most places will do a custom setup for around 450 -495 which i think is kinda a bit steep.
What are anyones thoughts on a high flow cat, I sort of cant justify it. $300 for minimal gain in my opinion.

dunno bout the cat, but to reiterate the others, redbacks are berry schmick. really happy with it

i just have a redback rear muffler, not full catback (anyone know what the difference is??) and i have found that i got a pleasant power increase from the setup. However i had the crappy super quiet standard magna muffler, not the higherflow sports muffler that mitsubishi put on the VRX.
As for the note, welcome to dronesville, popular redback. It does sound very nice when your getting up it, but when your just driving it normally it can get a bit annoying

What are the VRX/Ralliart mufflers like? Im over noisey exhausts, but want a higher flowing muffler than the stock TH Sports one.
Any idea how much they would cost?

I notice that Lukey are doing 3" black cat-back bolt-on systems for Falcodores, is there any fitments for Magnas? Has anyone fitted one?
See Auto One easter catalog to see what I mean

Blake: Dont bother with a Cat as the standard ones in the VRX are fine. If you are getting up towards 200kw atw's then i would suggest changing it out. (this is a quote from the guys at Daalder exhausts)

I have been told time after time that all the stock cats are more than adequate.... not just from people and general convos and opinions but from exhaust installers when I have asked the question... I fact my trusted exhaust fitter talked me out of it. Even though he would have done it if I really wanted it. I was quoted $250 for hi flo cat.
One thing I might be looking into is that i was told that the honeycomb thing (there is a name for it) in the air intake is a place that could possibly be modified/replaced for gains, just after the filter. I doubt that this would be an easy thing to modify or find a better replacement, but I had a look at it when I installed the pod and it looks like it could be quite restrictive.

Thats what 'straightens' your air flow through the mas mate :) I suggest not touching it..

Definatly leave that alone, its there for a reason! Some guys have taken it out and had all sorts of running problems, not a good idea!

Yeah no, not take it out but had it replaced., I was sure it served a purpose. Never mind, it was just suggested by and exhaust shop.
