View Full Version : Lukey Bolt-on Cat back systems??

I notice that Lukey are doing 3" black cat-back bolt-on systems for Falcodores in the latest Auto One Catalog that I have just seen.
Are there any fitments for Magnas? Has anyone fitted one? Since the 2297 sounds pretty good (at least to me...), it could be another performance mangna mod!
I am looking to get either pacemakers + redback or mabe a dual lukey 2297 system put on my 3L TF manual. I like the "tech" sound, rather than just being loud. Alot of returning home at 4am Sunday morning after DJing, hate to piss the neighbours off. A Lukey bolt-on system would be just another option.

A 3" system is too big for a 3 litre! even for a 3.5 it is still too big, your better iff goin for a 2 1/2 or even 2 1/4.

Go 2 1/2 max for a 3L even with a turbo. My 3.5L has 3" catback and drones a bit - getting another resonator put in soon. Mind you I've now got more torque than a windmill!

I went down to carline today and enquired about a Lukey for my TJ. They didn't have one and Walker said they don't make em for my model yet (OCT 2003 TJ). Damn.

Hmm..don't go to carline lol
Anyway, any DECENT shop should be able to make a cat back system up for you no drama.

Yeah id just go custom from and exhaust place, i rang around a month ago for quotes. Average price seems to be 350 to 400 for a 2 1/2 cat back with resi and straight through muffler with some tip.

It's been proven that 3' for a 3.5 isn't too big.

I'm living that dream right now :dancin:
Just have to work on that low rpm drone. I know the solution is obvious: drive at 4000rpm....

Yeah let me know how that turns out Ez. I wanna do this but I want it quiet. I saw a 240 the other day I am pretty sure it was modded and had a cat-back but you could barely hear it.

OK. Two things I have to say first. I'm only young and I'm brain damaged.
Now, could you please explain what a cat back is. It doesn't have anything to do with PVC pipe and small furry animals does it?

I got a quote for 2 1/2 cat back with twin mufflers, for $520, without tips though. but that was better than $1000 plus from carline!

a "cat back" exhaust system is where you replace the piping from your catalytic converter to your rear muffler.

Is that all it is. I told you I'm not real bright.
Can the resonator be replaced with another muffler to give it a bit more bite but not too loud or is that the job of the big fat one down the back. Mine is stock and sounds like a rush off air down a long straw, pretty pathetic really when I can fart louder.
Thanks guys
