Try D&T Performance

for a full cat back exhaust system that is not to bad, but i reckon it would be a waste, going from 2¼ to 2½ isnt that much of an improvement!!! doing the rear muffler would be best, unless you want to turbo in the near future and then a minimum 3" would be needed!

Make sure of that it's a mandrel bent system

If it is..that's not too bad of a price.

I got a 2.5" mandrel bent cat back system with the lukey lr2779 for 490. That was with a resonator too.

I thought the stock piping was already good in the magna range, I would spend that money on extractors and rear muffler. ;) But will cost ya a bit more.

On the TR/TS it's not that fantastic.

but the TE+ it is.

oh yeah, silly me... yeah on the TS a 2½ would be a good up grade... i really gotta look what im talking about!

MMAL responded to a question I had about the piping diameter for my TF Magna. It's 60.5mm and I've measured mine and I'd probably agree. It varies a little but it's mandrel bent. I'm going to echo Killbilly and Dingo here. The stock piping will be good enough for most of your mods. Just change the muffler and use the saved money elsewhere.

A mate has a 3.0 and got a 2.5 press bent exhaust with the Lukey muffler. He said he saw a noticeable improvement but I've seen the last two bends and they look fairly badly pressed. I would imagine he hasn't seen as big a gain as he could have. The gains from a 2.5' mandrel bend system will be small over the stock piping and for the money, IHO, it's not worth it. The biggest gain is the muffler, my dyno run showed a 12HP improvement at the wheels.

so should i save my money and just get a muffler?
or go all out and get the piping from the cat back?

MUFFLER ONLY...
then use the money on extractors or something else.

better still buy my TR/TS Turbo Motor setup ... it iincludes the complete 3" man bent exhaust and muffler.
Check it out in the Forsale section.

Remember Redav you're talking about the TE+ with your exhaust size..
The TR/TS is different.

I would replace the whole lot...I did and I dont regret it.

I never said to not replace it. I say you should.

Also just a note on the extractors, they finally all join up in a 2.5" pipe...so it's only natural that you fit a 2.5" cat back to it to keep the pipe size uniform to avoid bottlenecks that rob you of potential power.

  you made the same mistake as me redav...
its a TS, not a TE+ meaning it has a smaller dia exhaust... maybe a 2" or less (not familiar with the 2nd gen range, ask Killbilly)

you made the same mistake as me redav...

So, I did. I coulds swore that I saw TH somewhere. Oh well, go the cat back, 2.5 mandrel bent piping. I'd think about keeping a resinator.

Lukey is a cheap brand. Tell Mark (ET) to put a Magnaflow/JUN-BL muffler on the arse off it and it will sound sweet.

I don't see why everyone praises lukey here. *vomit*

Right..

I think someone has just ruined any credibility they may have had with me.

I like my Lukey however I'm keen to hear a Magnaflow so if any SEQ dudes can let me know if you have one, I'll have a listen next time we meet.

As for the Lukey, it's based on the one available on the VR-X and Sport which is made by Walker. It's design specifically for Magna's and doesn't drone. Why do you think it's cheap?

Lukey is cheap. Compare the price of a lukey to something like a Magnaflow or even APEX'i.

Lukey is good if you want a cheap replacement 'bolt-on' muffler for the later model magnas.

As for any credibility - bah. Just because someone doesn't like the brand of muffler you preach they loose crediblity?

But why is it cheap? Is it just because it's cheaper or are there quality issies? If Ferrari made an alternative muffler for their vehicle, would you call it cheap? I don't understand where you coming from. When I asked for the Lukey, they said have this one for 89 bucks instead. It will do the same job as the Lukey and it's cheaper. I'd be inclined to think that might be a cheap muffler.
