I'm also new to the forum and all and have a 2000 TH sports. Anyway, its already been lowered, the guys said 50mm at the front and 40mm at the rear but im still not happy. If i get it lowered another inch all round would i have to get the arches rolled keeping in mind ive got 17" rims on the car but plannin on gettin 18"s.

The diameter of the rim wont make a difference, as long as the overall diameter of rim+tyre does not exceed the original size (its illegal if it does anyway). So bigger profile rim = lower profile tyre.
As far as fitting under the gaurds if you lower it another inch... cant help you there... Make sure its still within your states and insurance companies legal limits.

I think you'll be sweet.
I have a fairly low TJ vrx with 17's, and only had a little scraping on the front plastic flare which was easily trimmed, and the rears where no worries.
As you don't have the flares to worry about, which are about 15mm below the original arches, all should be OK.

I just lowered my 2000 TH with Kings superlow (65mm drop) at front and kings Verada low (50mm drop) and i have 18x8 mags on, and there is still like 2 - 3 cm clearance. So if you are planning to go 18x8, then dont worry. It will be fine.
I heard that even 18x9 should fit according to booya, but i cannot confirm that. ;)

Thanks for that guys, that probably saved me spending some money that didnt need spending. I do have a nother question though, my car has the rear wing with the brake light. I want to take the rear wing off, however I heard that if i do that Ill have to get a brake light put in the rear window or is that just stories. Are the normal brake lights not enough?

It's not a practical issue, it's a legal one. By law, if the car came with a high-level brake light, it must still have one. So, yes, if you want to remove the spoiler, you'll have to install a high-level brake light in the window or whatever. I'm not 100% sure even that is legal, you might want to check with the RTA.
About the lowering: I'd get the wheels first, then you can see how much lower you can go.

Like i say, it ain't illegal if you dont get caught ;)
But yeah, definately get 18s and lower at same time. But you will not have any problems anyways. Depending on how low you want to go. Some guys got superlow at front and low at rear, and then recompressed the springs to go even lower with 19x9. But i think that is getting to close to comfort. :)

Carel, well done on your car and making it look phat. Just make sure when you lower your car even more with even shorter springs, that the springs don't pop out and spear through your strut housing or chassis. Make sure it's trapped properly with your shocks. Which unfortunately I doubt.
Alternatively you should think about coilovers if you want to go that low. At least that way you have the ability to dial in the height you want and change it from offroad to shopping to Sat night pimping.
With coilovers at least you know the springs are always trapped and the shocks are matched to the spring rate and not be too bouncy or hard to ride in.

As it has been stated, if the car came with a high level brake light, it needs to have one...technically. But, seriously, who would look for one???
Worst case, a cop pulls you over and asks where is your high level brake light (not very likely haha). Just say it did'nt have it when you bought the car.
Worst case again, you have to get the car inspected, the inspector will check to see that all brake lights are working...hes not going to be checking to see what possible brake lights are missing, especially if it all looks factory. Even if you do get a smart one, say it was like that when you bought it, probably would'nt be that hard to get one fitted from a TH+ anyway.
In regards, to looking factory, if your going to take the wing off, buy a new boot lid. Dont plug the holes....looks F***en ugly IMO.
Mark.
well im interested in some coilovers but no websites wanna have any instoke for the magna's
