First of all i'm not really interested in butchering the door skins to put 6.5"'s in. I just want to replace the 4" in the dash for cheap. I was looking at these: http://www.strathfield.com.au/ViewProduct.asp?ProdID=1003#
So yeah.....will these fit in the dash? If not any alternatives that are <$75?

whatever brand of 4" speaker you decide to put in the dash. chances are, its gonna have a magnet thats too big, and your going to have to do some fiddling around and cut out some of the plastic underneath where the current 4" speakers sit.
theres a layer of plastic, just hack that out somehow, make sure not to cut anything below that layer, its your air con vents under there..
I have replaced my 4". it was a real bit*h of a job to do.. easiest done with a dremel, and lots of patience.
there are alotta posts about how to do this, i just gave u a breif explaination...
Cutting out the holes for 6.5" speakers in the doors is apparantly an easy and well worth job. Im planning on doing it as soon as i get out of my cast
Good luck man

I found that the decent 4" Pioneers didn't fit because of the magnets, and swapped them for some Kenwoods. Sounded great. Sorry, not sure what they were worth though as I bought fronts and rears together. I'm 95% sure those Pioneers you linked to won't fit.

any 4" speaker will fit in the dash, dont listen about magnet sizes and all that crap. All you have to do is buy the 4" speaker you like, and if the magnet is too deep, just cut the small piece of plastic that goes along the hole (this was originally there for the stock speaker to sit on). A stanley knife will go straight through it and it'll take all of 2 seconds. The tricky part is getting the screws in because the windscreen is so damn close, i just used a bit off an electric drill (a tiny little screw driver piece). you may have to break off 2 corners of the speaker holes flaps (you'll know what i mean when you get there).
