Hey all,

Have a TF V6 with 156,000km on it.

I notice when stationary in "drive", quite a lot of vibes are transmitted throughout the car. It's common in ageing autos, I guess, but it's a tad disconcerting. Just had the auto serviced, made no difference.

As you'd expect it disappears if I put it in neutral.

Is this a normal magna thing? Or are there any options to fix / reduce this?

Thanks

I have a similar problem and have had it looked at a few times and it is a bit better now, but mine, funny enough was a break in the head gasket which was causing the greater part of it, but otherwise just the usual checks like spark plugs and idle tuning. I am due for compression testing as well (my TF has done over 219,000)

I don't know if this could be a contributor but might it be possible the engine mounts are worn?

most of the time its a faulty stally, and will never go away. have your mounts looked at tho just to be safe.

most likely engine mounts mate...front and or rear roll stoppers...there is a revised part and a revised install procedure.
cheers mon

"faulty stally" - what is that exactly?

your stallie or stall converter or torque converter is the automatics version of a clutch, when there is a certain rmp reached it softly engages the input shaft of your gearbox and you start to accelerate.

oh and another thing I forgot to mention; it's definitely more noticeable when the engine is at normal operating temp, rather than when cold at startup.

That would rule out engine mounts, yeah?
