Hi, I'm a new member here and my car is a Magna (of corse).
I got it just after I got my P's off one of my Dad's workmates who recently got a new car so he wanted to get rid of this TS for only $2000, and it's in immaculate condition. It's done 240,000k but still runs very well.
There is a slight problem though. Every time the car revs to about 1,700-1,900 RPM there is a vibration on the front windscreen/dashboard (it is only severe in 1st gear and when it's cold, but noticable in higher gears). I was wondering what could be causing it, if its the wheel allignment or the engine or something.
Thanks.

Edit: It's a 4 cylinder sedan.

welcome to the forums man, sounds like a nice car you have there

as for the vibration, is it doing this while the car is Not in motion aswell? If it is then its obviously the engine shaking around too much. Might be an engine mount?

if its vibrating while in motion, could be a number of things.. wheel allignment, worn tyres?, etc..

or maybe just something loose in the dash somewhere..

Otherwise, maybe your just too picky! its a 15 year old car, things are gonna vibrate mate, turn ur music up :P

lol, Yeah it only does it when it's in motion.

I try to turn my music up, but I only have the standard 2...TWO speakers at the front.

TS...15 years old? maybe in a few years...
I have a 93 TR which is essentially the same car, with the same engine and occasionally there are virbrations around 1500 to 1700 rpm. But its only ever when the revs drop down to 1500 to 1700 rpm when i change from say 1st to second when its cold, which is understandable as to why that would happen. probably coz theres not enough tourqe at those revs when the engine is cold in 2nd gear. But doing it all the time at those revs, and only when ur moving... not sure what would cause that.
but then again, even an 11 year old car will have some vibrations, buy a new cd player and rear speakers like i did and you wont notice it :D

The only vibration I have in my dash is from the sub...damn air vents *grumble*. Occasionaly vibrates from slapping dash too hard when car is running like poo.

Seriously tho' I do have vibrations when taking off in first (5 spped here) and I can hear plastic vibrating....meh, I got used to it. Get it seen to by mechanic/good mate who knows what they're doing if you are really concerned.

Oh, and welcome. Welcome indeed. The bar is over that way > (watch out for KillBilly - he likes to drink pretty much anything that would corrode away a metal bucket) and there's always ppl about to answer posts. Watch out also for the IRC crew, they're the kind of guys (and girls) that can hit a squirrel with an empty beer can at 600 meters.
